Welcome to the 2015 swim season! The pool will open on Saturday, May 16, 2015, and is scheduled to close on
Sunday, September 6, 2015 (close date may be extended if weather permits).
Notice of Annual Membership Meeting
The Annual Membership Meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in the pool house. We would
like to encourage all members to attend. At this meeting, the membership will nominate and vote for Board of
Directors positions. The two-year board terms of Anne Beres, Cathy Darrow, Jeri Jacobsen and Chuck Meyer end
this year. It is anticipated that at least two new candidates will be needed this year, so please consider this

2015 Dues and Fees
The Board and Club Manager, Will Lowell, work hard to keep dues and fees competitive. The 2015 dues and fees
will remain at the same level as 2014. During 2014, the Club was subjected to a desk audit and tax assessment
by the Washington Department of Revenue (DOR). The DOR has taken the position that nearly all dues and fees
are subject to retail sales tax. The Club is challenging the DOR’s positions, and we are working through the
appeal process. Meanwhile, our tax expert has advised us to collect sales tax on some items going forward, as
reflected below.

*As a requirement of our insurance, the Emergency Information and Authorization form must be completed
annually for all pool users under 18 years of age. Use of the pool will not be allowed without this form on file.
New Required Volunteer Hours – Please Read!
Did you know a successful swim season requires over 1,500 volunteer hours? Many volunteers are needed for
swim meets and water polo matches, but not all of our volunteer needs are related to the teams. Volunteers are
also needed for the start of season set-up, spring cleaning, children’s parties, member BBQs, end of season
clean-up, and many other pool community events throughout the summer. When volunteers are not available, the
Pool Manager is required to pay pool staff to complete these tasks.
The Swim Club Board has adopted the following Volunteer Hour Requirements, effective for the 2015 season:
• Families that have children participating in Swim Team or Water Polo: 10 hours per season
• Families that do not have children participating in Swim Team or Water Polo: 5 hours per season
• Limited Use Members: 2 hours per season
Members can choose to “buy out” their required volunteer hours at the following amounts:
• Families that have children participating in Swim Team or Water Polo: $200
• Families that do not have children participating in Swim Team or Water Polo: $100
• Limited Use Members: $40
Please note the volunteer hour requirement is per membership. Do you have any teens that need service
hours? To facilitate this program, the Swim Club will be using web-based software called iVolunteer. This program
will allow us to use an online sign up process, send email reminders, track hours, etc. More information will be
provided soon.
Capital Campaign
The Swim Club Board recently mailed a letter about the Capital Campaign to all swim club members and to all
residents of Innis Arden. Please visit www.innisardenswimclub.com/capitalcampaign/ for more information. To
reach our goal, we need wide-ranging support for this project. As swim club members, you know how important
the pool is to our community. All residents of Innis Arden will benefit from an improved facility, so please talk to
your friends and neighbors about the Campaign and encourage them to donate. On your dues statement, there is
an opportunity to make a contribution to the Capital Campaign. For more information regarding donor recognition
