HOST HOME INFORMATION
Thank you so much for volunteering your home for Disciple Now! We believe God is going to do great things this weekend, and you play an integral part. Your modeling of a Christian home and your willingness to offer your hospitality speaks volumes to these students.
Your Home:
We will divide students into groups for your home based on the number you’ve indicated you are willing to host. They are expecting to sleep on the floor and are told to bring a sleeping bag and pillow for the weekend. If you have beds and would like to offer them that is fine, but it is definitely not a requirement. If you gave us preferences as to hosting boys or girls and middle school or high school students, we will do our best to accommodate. Please remain flexible with us as we have hundreds of students to place in homes, and have to take many factors into account. Two to three additional leaders, usually college students, will also stay in your home. Their responsibility is to be more hands-‐on with students. They will lead small group discussions and chaperone students. Students are instructed to be respectful of you and your home, and if any student is disrespectful or destructive in any way, they will be asked to leave. Please communicate your home rules and needs up-‐front to the students so they know your expectations. In order to be approved as a host home, we must have a background check on file for every adult member staying in your home the weekend of Disciple Now. If you have questions about the process or want to be sure you’re set, please contact us. Our Contact Info:

Your Commitment: dnow.twentyfifteen
Involvement:
Feel free to be around as much or as little as you feel comfortable, both in the main sessions at church and in the small groups in your home. You are part of this weekend, so you are welcome to join us in anything we do. Transportation:
If possible, we appreciate if you are available for transporting the students during the weekend if needed. However, we will do our best to place leaders in your home with enough transportation to cover the group needs if you indicated you would be unable to drive. Even if you are not driving students, please assist the leaders in getting students on their way from your house so they are on-‐time to all activities. It is especially important that students are not late to the sessions being held at the church. Food:
You are not responsible for providing any meals on Friday, but you may want to have a few snacks available (2-‐liters, chips, other finger foods). We’ve scheduled a lot of activities during the days and the students may be hungry by the time they return to the homes late in the evening. However, the more you buy, the more they will eat! So, don’t feel obligated to spend a lot of money on snacks. Saturday night dinner will be provided at your house, and we suggest pizza.
Please purchase breakfast foods for Saturday morning only (we will provide donuts for breakfast at the church on Sunday morning). For breakfast we suggest cereal, pop-‐tarts, muffins, fruit, etc.
If there are food allergies in your group, we will communicate that to you. Please Note: The reimbursement checks to help cover the cost of the food (up to $45) will be issued to you only after we have received the receipts from your purchases. If we do not receive your receipts back, we cannot issue you a check due to IRS Regulations. Please mail us the receipts back in the prepaid/addressed envelope in your packet. Make sure to write your name on each receipt that is turned in to the office. The deadline for submitting receipts to the Student Ministries office is April 12, 2015.

Your Group:
Because registration does not close, it will be Friday afternoon before we can send you information about the gender, age and number of people to expect. However, it is safe to assume it will be approximate 8-‐10 people, and we’ll work hard to meet your preferences. We’d like to ask host homes to come to the church Friday night at 8:30 pm to meet your group for the weekend. The students will have lots of luggage to fit in cars and the leaders would rather caravan to your house than follow a Google Map print-‐out in the dark. If you are unable to meet your group on Friday night at the church, just let us know and the group will arrive at your home that evening as scheduled. Communication is Key:
Be sure to exchange contact info with the leaders in your home in case they need to get in touch with you. Free Time:
Because we have so many great things planned for students during the weekend, there is no designated time in the schedule this year specifically for free time. On Saturday afternoon after the service project activity, groups will be dismissed to host homes for clean up time and dinner. Some groups may finish earlier than others which may allow for a little free time. In this case, you may provide options for the group during free time. Here are some suggestions: Watch a movie (G and PG ratings only) Play video games or the Wii (E rating only) Play sports outside or watch sports on TV Play board games or card games Watch the Sessions:
All main sessions at the church will be live streamed so you can watch online from home if you’d like. Visit the church’s website at www.sevierheights.org and click the option “watch and listen online.” We want your Feedback:
We’ll be contacting you after the weekend to see how everything went in your home. We appreciate feedback so that we can continue to improve this event in the future. If you have suggestions or comments that would be helpful to our staff, please don’t hesitate to let us know.

The Rules: dnow.twentyfifteen
Medication:
All medication must be taken up when students arrive at your home. Host home adults will be responsible for holding medications and dispensing at the proper time. When the group arrives on Friday evening, ask the students to take all medications out of their bag and give to you as it is NOT an option for them to keep it during the weekend. If you have questions regarding medication, please contact one of the student ministry staff members and we will consult the medical release form of the student. We have a nurse available on-‐call for the weekend. If you need medical advice, please call a staff member, and we will work with the nurse to help your situation. Cell Phones: In the past, students have not been allowed to use their cell phones as they provide great distraction during a very intentional weekend. However, this year we want to give them the chance to capture the special moments and memories they make here at Disciple Now. We are allowing cell phones, but the students will be expected to put them away during small group times and worship. They may use them during free times or during crowd participation segments of the sessions. Pranks:
No one is to leave your house during the times designated for them to be there. That means absolutely no pranks or sneaking out of any kind. We will send students home as punishment. Students Driving:
Any student who drives to Disciple Now will be told to leave their car in the church parking lot for the weekend. Students should not be driving to or from your host home (unless given special permission by the staff). Students Leaving:
Students should not leave your house, but several have communicated that they have scheduling conflicts during the weekend and will need to leave for a previous commitment. Only once we’ve heard from parents, we will communicate those needs to you and the leaders of your group. If a student tells you that they are planning on being picked up or need to leave, tell them to have their parent call us so we have that information, and can grant or deny permission. ***Discipline: The student ministries staff needs to be involved in any discipline for breaking these rules. Please call us if a situation occurs, and we will handle the consequences with the student and his/her parents if needed.
