I N S P I R E
FREE SCIENCE INTERNSHIP CAMP
Applications are invited for the 8th FREE INSPIRE Science Internship Camp from students
presently studying in class 11th and 12th in science streams only. The camp shall be held from July 20 –
24, 2015 (5 days) at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University. The Camp is supported by Department of
Science & Technology, GOI under the INSPIRE (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research)
scheme. Eminent mentors/ scientists of national & international repute from all over the country will be
interacting with students on various scientific success stories across all science streams.
Meritorious students short-listed in their order of merit for this Camp shall have to stay on our
campus for the entire duration of the camp. TA, Boarding & lodging facilities (girls and boys hostels
separately) shall be provided by the organizers.
Eligibility: Science stream students of class 11th and 12th having secured a minimum percentage of
marks in 10th class (Boards) as per the following table are eligible to apply:

Candidates, who have already participated in a DST sponsored, INSPIRE Science Camp in past
anywhere in the country are not eligible to apply. Incase of the candidates who have cleared 10th
under new grading system, CBSE grade to percentage conversion formula shall be used for computing
percentage from grades.
How to apply: Candidates are encouraged to register for the Camp by downloading the form from our
website (www.smvdu.ac.in/). Application can also be made on plain paper containing coloured recent pp
size photograph, name, parentage, name of the school, percentage of marks in 10 th and complete
residential address with mobile number addressed to Director I/c, School of Innovation & Community
Development, SMVD University duly forwarded by the principal of the concerned higher secondary

of marks-sheet of 10th class should reach the O/o Director I/c, SICD, SMVD University, Sub Post Office,
SMVDU, Katra - 182320 latest by 20th June, 2015. Application form not forwarded by the Principal of
the concerned Higher Secondary School shall not be accepted. The list of short listed students in the
order of merit shall be uploaded on our website before the commencement of the camp and no personal
intimations shall be sent on individual basis.
