The REIQ continuing professional development (CPD) program is the accreditation system used for retaining
membership status, and will require completion by each licensee of a REIQ accredited agency, or any individual
member of the Institute. Since the inception of the REIQ CPD program, we have extended the program to ensure
all sectors of our membership are provided for, as the primary purpose of CPD is to promote best practice and
compliance across the industry.
What you need to know about CPD
You must complete 100 points of CPD by 31 December 2015. You can access CPD points by choosing a combination
of the following options. The relevant CPD icon will be displayed on all promotional materials and registration forms
for events, conferences and training sessions that provide CPD points.
CPD MODULES
• CPD Modules are offered each year through CONTACT CLASSES or DISTANCE EDUCATION or access
via our website, reiq.com
• CPD Contact classes are offered from February 2015
• Course calendars and enrolment forms can be accessed under the member resources section of reiq.com
• CPD modules are available in specialised streams
2 hour CPD residential modules attract 80 points
2.5 hour CPD commercial or business broking modules attract 100 CPD points
• CPD modules are available at no cost to practising and associate members
• Staff of an accredited agency will be charged a fee of $55 (incl GST) per person, per module

• SPECIALIST INDUSTRY TRAINING: The REIQ provides a range of programs designed to meet the
requirements of the industry specialist sectors and are held at various locations throughout the State.
Training schedules are available on reiq.com and in each edition of the REIQ Journal. For further enquiries,

• IN-HOUSE TRAINING: In-house training programs are tailored to suit the needs of your agency. These
training sessions can be delivered in your office or a venue of your choice and can be specifically authored to

• NATIONALLY RECOGNISED TRAINING UNITS: Any nationally recognised training units provided
through the REIQ as part of the registration, licensing and traineeship courses are eligible (for example a
member who completes any individual units such as CPPDSM4006A Establish and maintain agency trust

ONLINE JOURNAL ASSESSMENTS
50 POINTS
During April, July and October, a new online assessment will be posted on reiq.com and members will have
the option of completing this assessment on key articles in the REIQ Journal. The online Journal assessment
option is free. Log-on to the member resources section of reiq.com to complete the current assessment.
PROPERTY MANAGEMENT BREAKFASTS
Property Management Breakfasts are an opportunity for property managers to meet their peers, discuss
issues and share ideas in open and interactive sessions with a different and educational topic each time.
ZONE BREAKFASTS/LUNCHES
Zone Breakfasts/lunches will be conducted in each zone throughout the year. As well as a short presentation
from industry professionals, they also provide an opportunity to network with your colleagues and learn about

EXTERNAL CPD ELIGIBILITY
ELIGIBLE
RULE: A maximum of 50 CPD points can be obtained from external activities, with the remaining 50 points undertaken
at REIQ events. REIQ offers many free and low cost CPD eligible activities to ensure members can complete their CPD
requirement easily and simply. If you have undertaken a course that you would like to have considered towards your
2015 CPD, simply call or email the CPD team.
Australian Valuers Institute
If an individual is PURELY a valuer and doesn't conduct real estate business, then the full 100 points of
REIQ CPD can be granted upon the individual completing the AVI CPD program annually. If the individual is
a real estate agent AND valuer, then a maximum of 50 CPD points may be accrued from AVI.
Australian Institute of Business Brokers annual conference and annual CPD program
25 points for conference attendance alone. Maximum of a total of 50 points for CPD activities undertaken
through the AIBB.
Australian Property Institute CPD events
One API CPD point equals 10 REIQ points
