Light In The Attic are set to shine a spotlight on this great
American performer and songwriter with the release of
Has God Seen My Shadow? An Anthology 1989-2011.
Collecting Lanegan’s solo material for Sub Pop, Beggars
and more plus 12 unreleased tracks, this is the archive
treatment Mark has long deserved. It is released in two
sumptuous formats: a Double-CD edition with a gatefold,
tip-on jacket and a 44-page booklet comprising handwritten lyrics and rare archive photos by Charles Peterson
and Steve Gullick, and a Triple-LP box set, each LP in single
pocket jackets within a heavy, tip-on slip case, with a 20page book featuring the same attention to detail and
extras as the CD release. The 32 tracks shine a light on
Mark’s rare talent, and span the singer’s entire career,
from 1990’s debut album The Winding Sheet to a treasure
trove of recent unreleased gems and feature such guests
as PJ Harvey, Josh Homme and J Mascis. His is a sound of
grizzled vocals and dark melody, its lyrics chiseled out of
late night thoughts and dark humor.
This past spring, Daptone Records had just announced the
August release of Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings’ Give the
People What They Want when Sharon Jones was diagnosed
with cancer. The scheduled release and supporting tours
were immediately put on hold and all efforts were quickly
shifted to her treatment and recovery. It brings great joy
and relief to announce that after a successful operation,
ongoing treatment, and the continued support and love
of friends, family, and fans, Sharon Jones is Back. For over
a decade, the band has traveled the world, blowing minds
with their explosive live performances and their raw, handcrafted studio recordings. While other artists have ridden
the crests and troughs of passing fads, Sharon Jones & the
Dap-Kings have bypassed the hype-and-hit superhighway
and taken a detour straight to the hearts and bodies of their
listeners, transcending fleeting trends and demographics
and delivering a visceral rhythm and soul sound to an everexpanding base of deeply loyal fans. Give the People What
They Want is poised to become not only an iconic album
from a prolific band, but a fixture in the canon of Soul
Music.
Two winters has passed since the release of “The Sun I Carried Alone”,
Iskald’s previous record that saw the light of day in February 2011. As all
their releases, this as well received critical acclaim and great feedback
from fans all over the world. For two years, they have been writing their
latest epos. Finally, on the third winter, they return with their fourth fulllength effort “Nedom og Nord”.
If SUICIDAL ANGELS taught us anything over the past couple of years,
it`s gotta be that fine thrash metal doesn`t have to stem from the
Bay Area or the Ruhr area / Germany in order to damage your neck
muscles!!! Since their debut “Eternal domination” was released in
2007, this Greek bunch continues to prove with every album how do
to things the old school way. Still, the fourpiece is far from living in the
past. Sure you can compare the typical SUICIDAL ANGELS sound to that
of genre veterans such as KREATOR, but their input into the current
thrash revival is bursting with insane riff ideas, a massive and modern
production and a unique and energetic live presence – the latter was
clearly the case during their 2012 FULL OF HATE tour with CANNIBAL
CORPSE, BEHEMOTH, LEGION OF THE DAMNED and MISERY INDEX.

Heart were inducted into the Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame in
2013. This superb live broadcast was made right at the
height of Heart’s most successful period, in late 1978. The
concert took place at Pittsburgh’s prestigious Civic Arena,
a venue that could accommodate about 16,000 fans for
concert performances.

This powerful radio broadcast captures The Doobie Brothers at their
absolute prime; their best loved album, ‘The Captain and Me’ was
released in March 1973, just 2 months prior to the show from which
this recording was captured live.

composed the anthem „Canadian metal“ a few years back – pure steel
grows in the land of maple syrup and raccoons!!! SKULL FIST give us

McGhee and a master of acoustic country
blues. Sadly, little documentation of his work
exists, and
‘Late One Saturday Evening’ offers a rare
chance to take a close look at the Virginia
bluesman.
• This stereo recording, made at a house party
in 1966, was never intended for commercial
release.
It’s simply an informal jam session with
Seward up front and Terry (harmonica,
vocals), McGhee
(acoustic guitar, vocals) and washboard player
Washboard Doc offering their support.

getting together

• Heavenly Recordings are thrilled to announce that
Mark Lanegan is releasing his new covers
album, ‘Imitations’.
• Lanegan made the following comments on the new
album: “When I was a kid in the late sixties and early
seventies, my parents and their friends would play the
records of Andy Williams, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra
and Perry Como, music with string arrangements and
men singing songs that sounded sad whether they
were or not. At home my folks were also listening to
country music - Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, George
Jones and Vern Gosdin were some of our favourites. For
a long time I’ve wanted to make a record that gave me
the same feeling those old records did, using some of
the same tunes I loved as a kid and some that I’ve loved
as I have gotten older. This record is it. ‘Imitations’.”
• The LP format comes with a copy of the album on
CD.
• Although he has long been known as a
characterdriven songwriter, Okkervill River’s Will
Sheff
announced that this album is a work of
autobiography.
• ‘The Silver Gymnasium’ is set in a very specific time
andplacefromSheff’schildhood-in1986inthesmall
town of Meriden, NH, where Sheff’s parents worked
as teachers for a boarding school. Sheff conceived the
album as a tribute to the spirit of pre-adolescence,
meant to evoke the nostalgic feeling of “an action
figure you found in the woods.”
• This was also the era of video games like ‘Leisure
Suit Larry’, ‘Maniac Mansion’, and ‘King’s Quest’. To
pay homage to those early games, Sheff created his
own online adventure game in partnership with Eyes

‘Aventine’ is the eagerly anticipated new album
from Agnes Obel, released 30th September on
Play It Again Sam. ‘Aventine’ is the follow up to her
critically acclaimed debut album ‘Philharmonics’

Gold in Holland and five times Platinum in her native
Denmark, where Agnes picked up five Danish Music

OBLITERATION is a young Death metal band from
Kolbotn, Norway. They started out in 2001 and have
ever since left a trail of destruction behind them
with HELLBLAZING gigs and rock solid releases.
OBLITERATION released the debut album “Perpetual
Decay” in May 2007 which got great reviews
worldwide.In 2009 OBLITERATION unleashed upon
this earth their second album, Nekropsalms through
the Norwegian label Fysisk Format. “Nekropsalms” is
a cosmic blend of old school death metal mixed with
the best elements from doom, punk, thrash and old
school black metal, and after 8 years, OBLITERATION
have finally found their own repulsive style. The album
got rave reviews worldwide, both in the underground
and in more mainstream circuits. Now, in MMXIII,
Obliteration returns after a three year hiatus with
a devastating monument of death. Recorded once
again in their own DIY studio at Kolbotn, to capture
the band’s fire on tape, “Black Death Horizon” delivers
seven sepulchral tracks of haunting death metal.

albums will recognise some constituent parts
of ‘Antiphon’:
the quirky psychedelia of 2004 debut ‘Bamnan
And Slivercork’, the 70s soft rock strains of
breakthrough album ‘The Trials Of Van
Occupanther’ and the Brit-folk infusion of
2010’s
‘The Courage Of Others’. This, their fourth
album, is another fascinating departure, as
well as being a
logical progression too.

altitudes, Bill Callahan has set his sites on the runway.
It is 2013 and he’s ready to land again, with a full cargo
for the people down below on earth. From way up
high, everything looks so small. But then you land and
it swallows you whole. You disappear into the little
models, and the trains keep rolling by. And the lights go
on and off again. And the trucks on the highway, bound
for parts unknown. The musical modes are exquisite,
aquatic; shifting in delicate but deliberate undetectable
time as Bill’s lyrics wander from yard to yard.
Mazzy Star have announced the worldwide release
of their eagerly anticipated fourth studio album,

The album features performances by all the original
members of Mazzy Star along with special guests
includingColmO’Ciosoig(MyBloodyValentine)anda
special appearance by the late, legendary Bert Jansch
in a guitar duet of chilling intensity with David Roback
on the song “Spoon”. Seasons Of Your Day was
produced by David Roback and Hope Sandoval. The
album is being released on their own label, Rhymes

Your Day is Mazzy Star’s fourth studio LP, preceded
by She Hangs Brightly (1990), So Tonight That I Might
See (1993) and Among My Swan (1996). The band
performed a series of concerts in 2012 and will be
announcing new North American and European
tour dates for the autumn of 2013.
Considered one of the most creative, diverse,
and hard-rocking of contemporary American
bands, Monster Magnet is credited with
pioneering “stoner rock”. They’re noted for the
uniqueness of their sound, their authenticity as
a band, their ability to grow musically, and the
intelligence and wit of their songs. Fusing garage
rock, progressive rock, heavy metal, punk and
psychedelia – Last Patrol is Monster Magnet’s
tenth studio album and a testament to everything
they stand for. In addition to musical influences,
the band has always been inspired by comic book,
science fiction, horror movies, and B-movies by
filmmakers such as Roger Gorman and Russ Myer.
“Last Patrol is a return to our roots in terms of vibe
and recording style. It’s full-on psychedelic spacerock with a 60’s garage feel, recorded almost
exclusively with vintage guitars, amps and effects
in our hometown of Red Bank, NJ. The songs are
a kind of Space-Noir, tales of cosmic revenge,
peaking libidos, alienation and epic strangeness.
It’s a weird trip through the back alleys of a dark,
retro-future, which not by coincidence very much

is referring to the latest Pussy album Up The Dosage, a recording consisting of 13 fast-paced, sharp songs (plus two bonus tracks) which impress
with their homogeneity and stylistic complexity. Up The Dosage takes up seamlessly where the 2009 Pussy release From Hell To Texas left off and
goes even further.
Nashville Pussy came together in 1996. Ever since, the band has been performing a strenuous annual gig marathon, touring with acts like Lynyrd
Skynyrd, Reverend Horton Heat or ZZ Top and played Festivals like Wacken Open Air. Even Albums such as Let Them Eat Pussy (1998), High As
Hell (2000), Say Something Nasty (2002) or From Hell To Texas (2009) have caused an international stir, and their single release ´Fried Chicken And
Coffee` earned the band a Grammy nomination in the late Nineties in the category ´Best Metal Performance`.

Norwegian fivepiece SVARTTJERN already determined with its band name which way the wind blows: the “black tarn” refers to a painting
by August Cappelen that perfectly reflects the dark core of the band. Founded in 2003, the Norwegians quickly gained underground fame
with their first three demos between 2005 and 2008. Their debut “Misanthropic path of madness” was released in 2009 and shined with
hateful, satanic lyrics in combination with the unique 90s style of Norwegian black metal. These sons of Oslo rightfully name their style “True
Norwegian black metal”! Three years after the release of second album “Towards the ultimate”, brother HansFyrste (vocals) and HaaN
(guitars) plus the rest of the band are now ready to unleash a sinister storm in shape of “Ultimatum necrophilia”! Just like its predecessors, the
album was recorded at Marius Strand`s studios – except for the guitars which were recorded at Sæther studios. The grim cover artwork has
been conjured up by Linda K Røed who has previously worked for DARKTHRONE and GLITTERTIND.

til oppfølgeren. Bandet spilte hele 200 konserter i fjor og var i 2013 det mestspillende festivalbandet i Norge - for tredje år på rad.

OVERVIEW
WOLVES LIKE US from Oslo, Norway return triumphant with their new album Black Soul Choir, the follow-up to the 2011 debut Late Love.
Widely acclaimed across Europe and Scandinavia for their urgent post-hardcore fuelled alternative rock / punk, the band have spent the past
two years touring, writing and recording and are now ready to launch their new, ambitious work.
Late Love took WOLVES LIKE US throughout Europe on three successful tours with Kvelertak, label mates Junius and the reformed hardcore
legends, Swing Kids, and also ensured appearances at prestigious festivals such as OYA in Norway and Groezrock in Belgium. Playing kick ass
live shows night after night strengthened the bands dynamic and developed their vision upon returning to their homeland to begin writing
their follow-up album.
WOLVES LIKE US decided upon producer Mike Hartung and the famous Propellor Studios in Oslo as partners for the new recordings. Mike
is well known for his work in Norway with a diverse array of artists from A-HA to Satyricon and proved to be the perfect producer when the
band unveiled their Get Gone ep in the Summer of 2013. These new recordings, including a cover of the Quicksand classic Too Official, showed
the band was on the move. Bold and epic in its sound, Get Gone was released as a limited, vinyl only 10 last July on Prosthetic Records.
Mike continued to work with the band throughout the Summer to complete Black Soul Choir. Here, WOLVES LIKE US capture 11 perfectly
crafted songs. The vocals are at the fore, vast and powerful, complimenting the driving riffs, the harmonious rhythms and the thundering
percussion. Black Soul Choir will be released worldwide in February 2014 on CD, gatefold LP and via digital download also and presented with
atmospheric artwork from Matt Ryan Tobin.
Extensive touring is planned throughout the year, commencing with a February EU trek which sees them head out on the road with German
post-rock quintet Long Distance Calling and label mates Junius. A further EU tour will be announced for later in the Spring as well as series of
Scandinavian dates to coincide.
