Proteomics – Hand’s on Training Workshop Venue: National Institute of Pathology, ICMR, Delhi 6th -9th April, 2015 Proteomics has emerged as key technology in biomedical research programs. It is now critical to perform proteomic analysis for effective clinical research aimed at developing a better understanding of disease pathology, as well as designing new approaches for clinical treatment. The Proteomics workshop here aims to describe various workflows used for global protein analysis – from Gel based to Gel free analysis of proteins combined with mass spectrometry for protein identification. Methods for quantitative analysis of proteins will be introduced. The workshop will provide hands-on experience for performing and analyzing model gelbased proteomic experiments, MS and MS/MS analysis, including quantitation methods. The overall goal is to train participants to identify new opportunities and applications for proteomic approaches in their biological research. The workshop will include lectures on broad methods and applications as well as lab training 1-D and 2-D gels, peptide extraction and mass Scope of bioinformatics tools and applications will subjects of Proteomics in sample preparation, spectrometric analysis. be covered. Participants: Faculty and post-graduate students in medical and biomedical sciences and researchers (Ph.D. and post-docs) that have interests in the field of proteomics, 2-DE and mass spectrometric analysis.
