Region Invention Convention Finalist and supporting families!
The excitement is building as we complete the final preparations for this
year’s regional competition to take place May 9th at Columbus
State Community
College! This message will provide details of event day.
Event

Columbus State
Community College Conference Center (Friday 4:00 - 7:00
Invention Set Up & Saturday Judging and Programming
throughtout the day)

Inventor
"To Do" List:
Friday - May 8
1. 4:00 - 7:00 Inventor
Check In and Prototype
Set Up Notes: 1) Inventor does not have to be present for
to set up – parents,
teachers, teammates, etc. are permitted to set up for
inventor. 2) Pick up your badge and instructions for set up at the
Registration
Desk.
Saturday - May 9
1. 11:00 - 12:00 Last
minute Inventor Set Up (for out of town inventors and
others not able to set up on Friday).
2. 12:30 – 2:45 Inventors
are judged. Notes: 1) Student inventors must be present
during their assigned judging period to be
eligible to win (see Individual
Judging Schedule below to locate information on specific judging times).
2) Assigned judging times
cannot be changed.
3. 3:00 – 4:00 Inventions
are open for public viewing.
4. 3:30 – Dr.
Claire & Captain Gadget's Dare to Invent Show– A fun
filled game show where two teams will answer trivia
questions, take
"Dare Challenges" and build a team prototype to share with the
audience! Prizes will be awarded. 5. Directly following (estimated 1 hour award show) 2015 Central Regional Invention
Convention Awards Ceremony. Note:
Student inventor must be present for the awards ceremony to be eligible to win.

programming - educational presentations from TWC's "It Ain't Rocket
Science" Show, The Great Randini, Ranger Rob, Dean
Bohl Puppeteer,
Franklin County Soil and Water Presentation, Math Plus Academy, Visit with
"Abe", Math Plus Academy and Robot
Academy!
Check
out Education Expo and exhibitors.
Visit
Dr. Claire and Captain Gadget’s Station and share your “Light Bulb
Moment!”
Check
out Time Warner Cable’s hands-on activities.
Individual Judging
Schedule:
Each student inventor has been assigned a judging time that corresponds with
the color of their badge. Students must be present at their
assigned
judging time. Follow this link to determine which judging period your

Parking:
Invention Convention attendees should park at the McCoy Street parking lot
shown on the Campus Map. There is no cost to park
in this lot. Click
