Venue site: www.sanservolo.provincia.venezia.it GETTING TO VENICE By Air Marco Polo international airport is the third Italian airport, it has daily flight to/from most European cities as well as connections with USA and AE. www.veniceairport.it The city centre is easily reached from the airport using public transport either on land or using the navigation system. Alilaguna is the boat system which connects the airport with San Marco; from San Marco you then make your way to San Zaccaria boat stop to take line 20 to San Servolo. www.alilaguna.it ATVO is the bus which connects the airport (from outside the arrivals area) to Piazzale Roma in about 20 minutes. Buses leave every half an hour. www.atvo.it. ACTV – line 5 bus 5 This public bus service connects the airport with Piazzale Roma in about 25 minutes. www.actv.it. Private taxis are also available, it takes 15 minutes to get to Piazzale Roma. Once you reach Piazzale Roma you can easily start your tour of Venice on foot or by waterbus. • By Train Venice S.Lucia station is connected with the major Italian cities. Please note that cars are not allowed in Venice and in San Servolo. All cars must be parked at the Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto car parks. GENERAL INFORMATION BADGES Each participant will receive a name badge upon check-‐in at the registration desk. The badge will be the official congress pass and should be worn at all time in order to gain entry into the meeting rooms. CATERING FACILITIES Coffee tickets and box lunches are included in the registration fee. A bar and a cafeteria at individual payment are also available in the San Servolo island. CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE Regularly registered participants will receive a certificate of attendance. CREDIT CARDS Major credit cards are accepted by hotels, shops and restaurants. Credit cards are not accepted at the self-‐service restaurant and the coffee shop on San Servolo Island. BANCOMAT Bancomat machines are not available on San Servolo Island. INDUSTRY INFORMATION Companies and publishers are invited to display their products at the exhibition which will be organised in connection with the Meeting. BOOKING YOUR ROOM AT SAN SERVOLO THROUGH THE ORGANIZING SECRETARIAT Early booking is necessary and must be made through the on line registration form. Your reservation must be guaranteed by a deposit corresponding to one night stay: no booking is possible without this payment. The balance will have to be paid directly at San Servolo upon departure. An hotel-‐voucher will be sent to you with all details about your stay and balance in due time. Payments will be in Euros (€) either by bank transfer or by credit card (only VISA and MasterCard accepted). No cheque payments are accepted. Hotel Cancellation Policy and refunds Cancellation must be always confirmed in writing to Sistema Congressi: don’t forget to include all your bank details. Reservation changes will only be possible before the hotel voucher is mailed. After that, Sistema Congressi reserves the right to charge additional € 25,00 for reservation changes. No refund will be made after July 30th. TOURIST CITY TAX The City of Venice enforced a new tourist tax for visitors staying overnight, starting from August 24th 2011. Tariffs will vary according to season, location and the type of accommodation. This tax is not included in the room rates above and must be paid always directly to the hotel. 2
