Contributions from specialists from all over the world are invited and will be discussed. The conference will provideacommonplatformfordecisionmakers,managers,trafficengineers,practitioners,andresearchers to share their international experience in analyses of highway capacity, quality of service, and freeway and tollway operations. Organized by: FGSV International Symposium on Enhancing Highway Performance (ISEHP) June 14 – 16, 2016 | Berlin, Germany | Call for Abstracts 7th International Symposium on Highway Capacity and Quality of Service 3rd International Symposium on Freeway and Tollway Operations INVITATION The TRB Committees on Highway Capacity and Quality of Service (AHB40), Freeway Operations (AHB20) and the FGSV (German Road and Transportation Research Association) welcome submissions of abstracts for presentation at the International Symposium on Enhancing Highway Performance (ISEHP), which will be held in the heart of Germany’s capital Berlin from June 14 – 16, 2016. This international conference includes TRB committee, subcommittee, and group meetings as well as pre- and post-symposium workshops. TOPICS • Application of HCM and other methods for non-US conditions • Capacity guideline developments • Traffic flow, control, and highway capacity analysis • Planning-level analyses • Field data collection and processing procedures • Monitoring and estimating performance and reliability • Applications of traffic simulation for capacity and LOS analysis • Active Traffic Management (ATM) • Managed lanes • Incident management • Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) • Connected / autonomous vehicles and their impact on highway performance • Pricing as a congestion mitigation and sustainability strategy CONFERENCE LANGUAGE The conference language is English. ABSTRACT SUBMISSION Abstracts must be in English and should contain about 300 - 500 words. Abstracts must be submitted online on the conference website www.isehp2016.org. To submit an abstract authors need to create an EasyChair account. Authors must indicate whether they are applying for presentation and publication in Transportation Research Procedia by Elsevier or for presentation only. DEADLINE Abstracts are due March 31, 2015. REVIEW PROCESS Abstracts will be reviewed by members and friends of the TRB committees AHB40 and AHB20. Notification of abstract acceptance will be provided by May 31, 2015. Authors of selected abstracts will be asked to submit their full paper (presentation and publication), or either an extended summary or slides (presentation only) by September 30, 2015. Submitters will be notified whether their contribution has been accepted for presentation by January 31, 2016. Presenters are expected to register by March 31, 2016 (expiration of early bird registration) to be included in the program. The final versions of the full papers are due March, 31, 2016 to be included in the Procedia. INFORMATION — COMMUNICATION An early bird registration fee (until March, 31, 2016) of 390 EUR has been estimated. Main presenters and students are eligible for a 50% discount.
