In 2015 the California State Board of Education
is set to vote on a revised history-social science
framework. Hear from Nancy McTygue,
Executive Director of the California History-Social
Science Project and member of the California
State Instructional Quality Commission, as she
provides an update on the framework and
discusses how it fits with Common Core State
Standards and current research and practice in
history-social science education. Then, join in a
day of learning with colleagues from around the
county.
Leadership Strand

Hear about and discuss issues of leadership as
they pertain to supporting history-social science
education.
Teaching and Learning Strand
8:00 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.
Learn about engaging strategies and practices for
teaching history-social science in the Common
Core World.
