Training cum Awareness program for Anganwadi workers held
A day-long training programme-cum-awareness for 160 Anganwadi workers of
Bareilly district was conducted on the subject Nutrition, Health and Hygiene in
NLVS auditorium of IVRI on 26.03.2015. The program was organised by KVK
as an intervention under the ICSSR funded research project entitled
occupational health hazards among the male and female workers in livestock
rearing.

Singh inaugurated the program and
appreciated this novel effort of KVK.
He highlighted the significant role
played by Anganwadi workers in
meeting the health and nutritional
needs
of
children,
pregnant women and
lactating
mothers and expressed his wish to
repeat such women empowerment
programmes & study sessions to
cover large number of Anganwadies
in near future.
Guest of honour, Smt Buddhi Mishra,
District program Officer motivated
her Anganwaries to apply and extend
the knowledge learnt in the program
for the betterment of their clientele.
She assured Anganwadi workers for full cooperation for their training needs by
the department.
Acting Joint Director, Extension Dr Mahesh Chander stressed on the necessity
of organising such programs and called for more cooperative and collaborative
efforts by KVK with state government schemes.
Guest speaker, Dr Ajay Raj Sharma, National trainer, Nehru Yuva Kendra
explained the child and kishori programs and also schedule of immunization
among the children, adolescent and pregnant women. Dr Bharti Singh, Medical
officer, Human hospital, IVRI spoke on role of nutrition and nutrients in diet of
women and children at various stages. Third speaker Dr SVS Malik, Principal
scientist, VPH explained the zoonotic diseases and importance of personal and
kitchen hygiene and tips for sanitation for better health among the women and
the adolescent girls.
Program coordinator, Dr Hema Tripathi welcomed the gathering and appraised
the Anganwadi workers about the ill effects of malnutrition among the child,
adolescents, pregnant women and the nursing mothers in the rural areas. She
also highlighted the role of Anganwadi workers in disseminating their services
with responsibility and sincerity to
fight against malnutrition and also
explained
various
Government
programs and mission launched in the
recent past in this direction. The
training also addressed the magnitude
of the child and women anaemia
problem, its service implications and
measures created for preventing it.
Dr Ranjana Gupta welcomed the
dignitaries & the partcipants and Rakesh Pandey SMS, KVK proposed Vote of
Thanks. Shri Ranjeet Singh, Dr KL Meena, Dr VS Solanki, Manish Tomar,
Other staff of KVK, students of Extension Division was also present.
