The Company
Janus Motorcycles was founded around the belief that smaller, lightweight motorcycles
with an emphasis on hand-crafted design and quality don’t have to be a thing of the
past, or leak oil. We believe that the spirit of motorcycling is best understood,
especially for first time or urban riders, on a small, lightweight machine. The rider
observes a more powerful sensation of speed and feels a more direct connection with
both the road and the the passing landscape than is possible on many of the heavier
and higher-powered motorcycles common today. Janus is poised to offer fun, stylish
motorcycles to a younger, broader generation of riders who are interested in quality,
aesthetics, and urban mobility.
Hand-Crafted
The design and manufacturing process developed by Janus in northern Indiana is
focused on the highest level of design, quality, and performance. This approach
mandates a motorcycle different from any others made today and guarantees a
fundamental simplicity of operation and maintenance, making possible a closer
relationship between owner and machine.
Road Ready
Janus Motorcycles is a federally licensed vehicle manufacturer. Each bike is supplied
to the customer road legal with a 17-digit VIN and Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin.
Factory Direct
As we build our dealer network, we are offering our motorcycles built to order from the
factory. After you have placed a deposit, we will work with you to build your Halcyon
with your choice of colours or upgrades.

The Halcyon 50
The Halcyon 50 Basic is our premier model, equipped with all the essentials seen
above: leather seat, powder coated aluminum tanks, hydraulic forks, powder-coated
expansion chamber, and hand-pinstriped details. We offer a wide variety of upgrades
including leather saddle bags, fender number plate, polished tanks, and chromed
exhaust, among others. The Basic is available in gloss black, vintage red, Aga cream,
and Milwaukee blue.
Everything is designed and built by hand in and around our home-town of Goshen,
Indiana, including the frame, fuel tank, fenders, exhaust system, leather seat and
saddlebags, handlebars, pin-striping, wiring harness, and all the additional elements
that make up the complete motorcycle. We use rims and brakes manufactured to our
specifications, EBR hydraulic forks, and a great Spanish-designed 2-stroke motor. The
highly upgradable engine is a water-cooled 6-speed unit based on the Derbi Senda
that produces about 10 hp in stock form. Every bike comes with both kick and electric
start, as well as an oil injection system. Turn indicators, high and low beam,
speedometer, mirrors, and a top speed of 55mph ensure safe operation on all but
limited access highways.

Rigid tubular steel cradle frame: Each “featherbed” frame is hand-bent and
welded to exacting standards.
Hand-formed aluminum fuel and oil tanks: The Halcyon features complex,
powder coated tanks and battery box that are hand-formed from high-quality 14
gauge aluminum sheet and steel.
Hand-made leather seat and battery cover: The Halcyon 50 comes equipped
with handsome leather seat and battery cover.
State-of-the-art, 6-speed, water-cooled, case-inducted, 2-stroke single: Our
engines provide surprising power, acceleration, and top speed for such a small
unit.
Hydraulic front suspension: The Halcyon 50 features hydraulic EBR forks for a
smooth ride.
Powder Coated tuned expansion chamber exhaust system: The Halcyon 50 and
Halcyon 50 Basic are fitted with carefully tuned performance expansion
chambers for added power.
Center stand lock: The Halcyon is equipped with a center stand lock point on
the right side of the bike. This point is designed for use with an approved
motorcycle lock and keeps the center stand in the down position with the wheel
raised.

The Halcyon 50 Deluxe
The Halcyon 50 Deluxe is our limited edition model, sporting all the extra options
available for the Halcyon: leather saddlebags and seat, polished aluminum tanks,
hydraulic forks, and hand pin-striping.
All the options seen above on the Deluxe are available as upgrades for the Halcyon.

High Performance Exhaust
Our high-performance expansion chambers are the result of many years experience
designing and marketing 2T expansion chamber exhaust systems for small
displacement bikes. Tuned expansion chambers have a dramatic effect of
performance on 2-stroke. This upgrade alone will see a huge gain in power in the bike
and when paired with the cylinder upgrade will see even higher performance

Our saddlebag kit comes with a pair of our saddlebags along with everything you need

Frequently Asked Questions
Iʼm 6ʼ6” and weigh over 200 lbs. Is a Halcyon still an option for me?
Absolutely, the Halcyon was designed to fit all sizes of riders. In terms of acceleration
and hill-climbing, heavier riders will only experience slight loss of speed and response.
My neighbors already think iʼm a nutter and are looking for a reason to have me evicted.
How loud is the Halcyon?
The Halcyon 50 is equipped with an air box and silencer. If you can refrain from
performing donuts or burnouts you should be fine. The Halcyon is slightly louder then a
vintage Vespa, but much quieter than many larger bikes. Do you export your motorcycles overseas, or to Canada?
Yes, we will ship you our motorcycles to you, however, we are currently asking our
customers to arrange the necessary compliance issues and customs. Some countries
may not allow the Halcyon to be imported.
I live in California, where two-strokes are banned. Can I buy one of your motorcycles?
Yes, you can buy a Janus motorcycle, however, you will likely have trouble registering it
in California. We are working to figure out a solution for California customers.
I like the idea of the Halcyon, but want a bit more power. Do you provide any
performance upgrades?
We provide quite a few options for customers looking for additional performance,
including a 75cc cylinder kit, larger carburetor, and a tuned, high-performance
exhaust. Upgrading any engine component will have an impact on the reliability of your
machine and therefore void your engine warranty, however we build each performance
engine to exacting specifications and promise that you will enjoy your highperformance Halcyon.
Do you offer custom colours in addition to the stock colours you have listed?
If you are interested in a specific powder coat or leather colour not included in our
stock colours we would be happy to order any decent custom colour for you at an
additional charge.
Do I have to mix the oil and gas?
No, the Halcyon is equipped with an oil injector which regulates the fuel/oil mixture as
you ride. All you need to do is maintain the oil level in the reservoir (the round tank
below the fuel tank and near the seat).
Can I pick up my Janus motorcycle from the factory?
Yes, if you live a convenient distance from our factory you can save on shipping and
schedule a time to pick up your motorcycle.

I have seen pictures of the "Paragon" online. Do you offer this bike as a production
model?
No, the Paragon was a one-off custom bike we built around a vintage Puch E50 motor.
If you are interested in something with the same look, stay tuned for the Phoenix, our
next model, which will have very similar aesthetics built around our current power-plant.
