SNOOKER REPORT PLAYED ON TUESDAY 14th APRIL 2015 GREEN BAIZE GOBLINS WIN SNOOKER HANDICAP LEAGUE Tower Green Baize Goblins 4-4 Vinchelez For the 3rd year in a row the handicap league was decided on the last game of the season, The Goblins had a 4 point advantage going in to the last match of the season knowing avoiding a heavy defeat would secure the title. Playing away to Vinchelez was not going to be an easy task, as it proved to be when the first match saw Fran Savarese win his 2 frames against Tiernan McNulty scoring a 29 in the first frame and winning the second on the black, Stuart Simon was not able to inflict any further damage when he lost his 2 frames to Gary Britton winning both frames on the black with breaks of 24, 35, & 43 to bring the scores level, Alastair Simon shared the frames with Aaron Canavan (28,25,24), Phil Romeril drew with David Brabiner, David won the first with a break of 45 and a 25 clearance to win on the black to make it 4-4, and hope that the Mechanics Paramount would not win 8-0 to take the title away Mechanics Paramount 4-4 Mechanics C Paramount needed a good win and hoped that the Goblins would suffer a heavy defeat to win the title, but it was not to be, Glyn Ruthers did give the home team a good start and hope when he won his 2 frames against Bob Rondel, although it was very close as he won both on the black, Michael Anfrey lost 2-0 to Sam Duncan winning one frame on the black, Paramount needed to win the next 4 frames to stand a chance but were unsuccessful when Ryan Bailey lost both his frames to Fergus Cullen losing one frame on the black, Ady Bougourd made it 4-4 when he defeated Chris Conning 2-0 winning one frame on the black Mechanics A 5-3 Mechanics B Paul Bradbury drew with Clive de Sousa, once the handicap has been deducted Paul in his losing frame scored just 3 points and Clive scored 94, Bob Salkeld won his 2 frames against Danny de Sousa, Lloyd Letherbarrow won 2-0 against Gary Cook, Phil Papworth lost 2-0 to Carl Dix, in his 2 frame win Carl Dix played his best snooker of the season, in the 1st frame Carl had a 61 and a 22 clearance to score 112 points, in the second he made a 24,39 and 32 clearance to score 121 points Services Short Cue Wonders 4-4 Police Being the last match of the season this turned out to be a very friendly result with all the players winning a frame, Robbie Kilpatrick, Craig Le Gallais, Bob Bradshaw, Curt Tindall against David Proctor, Pat Patterson, Andre Bonjour and Martin Houguez respectively St Brelade Steelers 5-3 Tower Bullets Gary Boschat won 2-0 against Phil Smith winning the 1st frame on the black, Steve Thomas also won 2-0 with the help of a 32 break, Andy Stentiford drew with Tony Perchard losing the first frame on the black, Sean McDonald lost to Martyn Le Gallais St Thomas’ Tower 4-4 Tower D Two young players that have been improving over the last few months played each other with Nathan Piziura successfully winning 2-0 against Stephen Rive, Nathan has reduced his handicap from 28 to -14,in contrast the senior of the home team Ben White drew with Aubrey Rive, Bob Denison lost to Nathan Silvester, John Baudains drew with John Mahoney Tower Dragon Fairies 5-3 St Aubin Warriors Daniel Cavey won 2-0 against Richard de la Haye, Ross le Cornu drew with Doug de la Haye with Ross winning the first frame on the black, Owen Corfield won 2-0 against Guy Heys, Ray Ubsdell lost 2-0 to Robert Le Moel, in the second frame with only a few reds left Robert was well behind and managed to claw his way back and won on the black with a 27 clearance. Tower Pirates 4-4 Caesarean Tennis Club This was another of the five drawn matches, Chris Burrage lost to Sean Peters, this was Sean’s first back to back win, Steve Wilson lost to Mick Woolley, Scott Le Noa won against Stuart Young, Ben Garnier won 2-0 against Steve Morgan
