The Jewish Community Foundation of Northeast Florida Presents… JEWISH COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF NORTHEAST FLORIDA Greetings! The Jewish Community Foundation of Northeast Florida and The Len & Judy Elikan Camp Scholarship Endowment is thrilled to once again offer overnight camp scholarship awards this year for teens who are seen as potential leaders of the next generation in the Jewish Community. It is our belief, based on personal experience, that a Jewish overnight camp is a place to learn new skills, to have fun, and to meet new friends with whom you share your ideas about Judaism and life. Jewish camp is a place where many become proud and committed Jews, yet they may not have had that goal in mind when deciding to go. Many go on to become leaders in their community - a great byproduct. However, the first objective is the most important one: for each youth who attends to have a great summer experience in a Jewish environment. We are inviting young adults from seven congregations to participate in the program this year, and applicants from your congregation have an excellent chance of receiving an award of up to $3,000. Please act quickly - funds are limited. We urge you to discuss this opportunity with the educators and other leaders of your congregation and with parents of teens you think may be interested. We are particularly interested in those who have demonstrated outstanding ability and/or determination in preparing for their Bar, Bat or B'nai Mitzvah. The deadline for submitting an application is March 15, 2015 at 5 pm. Please provide this information to appropriate candidates. If you have questions, please contact Kevin Rogers, Project Coordinator at the Jewish Community Foundation of Northeast Florida ([email protected] or 904-3940720). We hope you are blessed with many teens in your congregation who will qualify for this program. Thank you for your help.
