Ruth Spencer, Lecturer in Music at City College and the 92nd Street Y, will perform about a dozen of these mazurkas, some of which are barely a minute long. Ms. Spencer has done research on the famed composer in Paris, Poland, and Majorca. The performance will begin with a talk on Chopin’s life, featuring photos of places where he lived and worked.
