Spring Ahead.
We changed our clocks a week ago and the days are longer.
With some Irish luck maybe the weather will get warmer also.
Sunshine really brightens my day as the crocuses and the
daffodils are starting to peek through the snow.
Most recently in the month of March we had three fundraisers.
On Sunday March 1, JCSC had a Breakfast Buffet. The food was
delicious, but the snow fell and 40 people came in spite of the
poor weather. We will repeat this great fundraiser later in the
season. The money tree raffle, with 55 scratch off tickets, was
awarded to Charlie Carr from our guitar group. The Center
gained over $500 with ticket sales! Gance’s Fish Fry on
March 13 was also successful. Coming soon, another fundraiser
and popular event, Doc’s Chicken Barbeque will be Saturday,
April 25. Full chicken dinners may be eaten inside the center or
as take-outs. Get your advance tickets before the chicken day.
Come back , come back! Although it has been a long, hard
winter JCSC welcomes new members and NEW programs.
Mahjong, Pitch card games and a 6 Steps to Better balance class
have been added to the weekly calendar. Speakers and events
planned in April are plentiful and very informative. Watch the
weekly schedule and this newsletter to get involved. New
volunteers are in training as they start their new assignments.
Lots happening at the Johnson City Senior Center!
The annual board meeting, luncheon and entertainment will
be Friday, April 24 in the dining room. It is an open invitation
for members and guests to attend this special event. I will also
outline the upcoming membership campaign during this
meeting. Meet the board members in person. Lunch tickets
must be purchased in advance.
Join the journey! Lots to do, people to meet and many
educational speakers in the month of April. Don’t miss out.
Come on in!

For more information about our trips, please call 797-3145
Please notice the final payment due date pertaining to
each trip. Many of the venues have to have ticket
prepaid either for the entertainment or admittance.
This is imperative this year, as we would LOVE to have
all of our trips leave this year!
Our Genesee River Gorge trip was canceled in March because of low turnout. Later, many newspaper articles
stated the frozen falls were absolutely breathtaking. Many visitors from all over were glad they went to
Letchworth in the winter because of the cool things that took shape. “Frozen falls and the ice volcano in the
park were absolutely amazing”, stated one couple.
Each trip that we plan has many outstanding features. Don’t delay in signing up, you never know what you will
be missing.
