Mayor Hancock called the special meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. Council Member
Lauritzen was absent.

DISCUSSION OF FISCAL YEAR 2015-16 ANNUAL CITY BUDGET
City Manager Gary Thompson reported that today, the League of California Cities announced
that the governor’s revised budget includes approximately $24 million that is earmarked for
paying off debt that is currently owed by the cities of Jurupa Valley, Menifee and Wildomar to
the County of Riverside. He explained how the California Department of Finance will
distribute these funds. He stated that these funds put the City of Jurupa Valley in a much more
favorable position going forward. Nonetheless, the City will still pursue restoration of its lost
revenue in the long-term and will continue working with Senator Roth. In light of this news,
he recommended that the City Council rescind their earlier resolution of intent to file for
disincorporation.
Council Member Lauritzen arrived at 6:35 p.m.
