THE INSTITUTION
Kalasalingam University is situated in a
serene campus surrounded by scenic
mountainous setting at Krishnankoil. The
University is located 60 KMs south of Madurai
and 10 KMs north of Srivilliputtur on MaduraiSengottai national Highway. The institution
(formerly Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of
Engineering) was established in 1984 by the
pioneering vision of “Kalvivallal” Late Thiru T.
Kalasalingam, a veteral freedom fighter and
Chairman of Kalasalingam group of Institutions.
The University has excellent facilities and focus
for Research and Development programme.
THE DEPARTMENT
Department of Physics is offering Ph.D.,
M.Phil., and M.Sc., in Physics. The faculty
members of the department have strong
research expertise in various fields, including
crystallography, thin films, theoretical physics,
polymer science, ion conducting materials and
nanoscience. The department is confronted by
the mission of creating new technologies and
procedures for society and industries through
the cutting edge of research and education.
INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH CENTRE (IRC)
IRC at Kalasalingam University is established
to carry out advanced research in the broad
areas of materials science, energy and
computing. Scientists with post doctoral
research experience from leading foreign
universities are carrying out advanced research
in the above areas.
SCOPE
This FDP program is aimed to impart advance
level training in the specialized and emerging
areas of Physics and Materials Science and to
fulfill the needs of teaching and research in
academic institutions. The program will be
conducted through a series of talks
demonstration on material characterization
techniques.
