This is such a load of hooey....a big, smelly load.
P.U.!
Here's what's going on:
The [DPCA]Board of Directors got a warning the other day - asserting that UDC had abandoned the AKC
Standard for Dobermans as we know it - and revised their guidelines for judging the breed. The individual
sounding the alert, said if what they read was true:
"I strongly protest any participation at my DPCA National Specialty 2015" and further demanded the DPCA
*not* allow a WD trial or seminar; "NO WD event at all, ever again. No financial support either".
Ya gotta wonder: when did the DPCA National become the personal property of some over others?(It's
rhetorical since we know the answer!)
And can we at least find out for sure if there's something to get upset about before we sound an alarm and start
drawing lines in the sand - encouraging yet more division among us??????
The same day "The Warning" makes its appearance inside the Board room - Tammy Kaplan shares the 1973
article on cropping/docking "Ruth McCourt's Warning" - borrowed from Judy Bingham's ADPEF
archives. Read it there if you haven't seen it previously... www.adpef.com
And, as was certainly predictable.... the orchestrated hooey becomes the topic of the day on Dobe Exchange with blame for everything hung on "the Coalition", Cyberdobes and of course, the All Powerful Evil Cheri. (If I
were a Disney character, Maleficent would be out of work!).
If it weren't so pathetic, it might be amusing.
Hooey, hooey, hooey, hooey and more hooey. Transparent hooey that has nothing to do with the facts
whatsoever.
I share because you need to know so when its time to vote, you can do so as an INFORMED member of the
DPCA.
DPCA - here for Dobermans. To preserve and protect Dobermans.

and enjoy the training I have been shut out of their communications due to my strong stance on the

down open communication with their strictly moderated list. You can only discuss what they approve or your
post never goes through. This is the coalition's transparency.

UDC is a small club and needs members. I do not believe we need to change our standard, however, just to
bring in new members, as it lowers the bar.
Janice I so agree with you and so sorry you were not on Bonnie's list to know all that has been eating away at
our Dobermans. I was pretty much a lone soldier fighting for our rights to crop and dock. I think others were
afraid to speak up for fear of attacks by BOARD members!!! I had plenty!!! Singed my feathers more than
once.
The destruction is coming from within. It is the face of CD and the coalition who strongly supports it. Notice
they are for ALL members but don't post here where DPCA members gather.
When I read about this little change slipped into our APM revisions and I believe the conformation section
was Jacque Matson's undertaking as she is conformation chair, needless to say, I was shocked. This is all
coming straight from the coalition side. This is clearly their vision for our Dobermans.
I knew from conversations that Doug did not feel leaving a Doberman uncropped or undocked was a big deal
and felt if it changed it would not matter. I know UDC has discussed changing to the FCI standard but at this
point it had not passed. I guess I don't understand how you can adopt a standard and then "change" it on the
whim of some.
When UDC was founded it had a clear vision and along the way that vision has been lost. For the members
like myself who support our standard we have been pushed aside. The board now runs it with an iron fist.
My concern is how does it damage DPCA and the "real" standard approved by AKC??? It seems to me they
have opened a door that will be hard to shut.
I talked to Bonnie Wittrock one of the founders of UDC and she was sad to see this happen. Sadly the UDC
board took action to shut out Bonnie and the yahoo group she had run for years where members could discuss
issues. It is becoming very clear that they have an agenda that they are not sharing with the membership.
As far as Jeff goes one has to ask themselves how you fight so hard for our rights to crop and dock and then
turn ??? The coalition has clearly shown that they are willing to throw our Dobermans under the bus to
win. Each day they reveal more of their treachery.
Nedda I also think a change to their by-laws would require a vote of the membership but if it happened they
left me out as I did not vote on the issue. Open and transparent??? You tell me.
We are Americans and just as I don't care where you get your Doberman I also don't care what sports or
activities you participate in. But I AM AMERICAN and I 100% support standing strong on our American
principles. I will not lay down and sell out our breed to appease any part of Europe and their dictator like
destruction of our breed. NOBLE????

------ GM Suzan,
What you are saying is that the UDC does not follow the AKC standard? Doesn't the UDC membership need to
vote on any changes? I know there are UDC members on this list who might have additional information and
hope they will share that with us.

You know all those other Doberman registries? What makes UDC any different now that they have thrown
away the standard which we kept hearing they support?
If this is the way they want to grow their membership, they will run into the same problems we are going
through for having become 'inclusive'. What other parts of the standard will they deem unimportant? Color?
I have seen nice Euro dogs, but I have seen some I wouldn't take for free. Some look roached, others look
out of balance. And the way they show them definitely makes them look worse.
I wish these people that don't accept that this is a cropped and docked breed would find another breed.
If the coalition gains control, you better believe judges will be told to accept undocked and uncropped and
they will load up the membership with people that don't support the standard. It is bad enough today with the
discord, but the vengeance they will wreak would be huge! Memberships for those that don't support them
will be denied. Our great committee chairs that are accomplishing more under this administration than I can
remember since I have been a member will be dumped immediately. Replaced with those that are in lock-step
with their ugly agenda. We must not let this happen.
