Brian Lee Pfeifle was born in Walworth County in 1949. He
graduated from Mobridge High School.
After graduating from high school, Brian served our country
during the Vietnam War. Upon returning, Brian was married
to Dee Ann Hollenbeck on December 12, 1972. They were
married for 28 years and had three children: Jada Loy born in 1974,
Tigh Lawrence born in 1976, and Jimi Beth born in 1980.
Brian worked as a yard man for Mobridge Livestock for a couple
of years after getting married. The family then moved to Valley
Springs in 1977 where he was a brand inspector at the Sioux Falls
Stock Exchange where he became a longtime employee for the
South Dakota Stock Growers. The family returned to Mobridge,
where he took over his father-in-law's position as a brand inspector
for Mobridge and McLaughlin Sale Barns. He then moved to North
Dakota to work for Kist Livestock as a brand inspector until his
retirement in 2013. He enjoyed meeting and working with all of the
people that came through the sale barns. Before and after his
retirement, Brian enjoyed working in the hay fields for his good
friend, Loren Yates, of Mobridge.
After his retirement, Brian enjoyed visiting with his family and
visiting casinos. He also made many trips to Las Vegas, where he
watched the PBR.
Brian, 65 of Tucson, AZ, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015,
after a long and hard fought battle with cancer.
Brian is survived by his 3 children, Jada (Layne) Sulzle, Tigh

TO THOSE I LOVE
If I should ever leave you, whom I love,
To go the Silent Way, grieve not,
Nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk
Of me as if I were beside you there.
(I’d come – I’d come could I but find a way!
But would not tears and grief be barriers?)
And when you hear a song or see a bird I loved,
Please do not let the thoughts of me be sad.
For I am loving you just as I always have . . .
You were so good to me!
There are so many things I wanted still to do
So many things to say to you. . .
Remember that I did not fear. . .
It was just leaving you that was so hard to face. . .
We cannot see beyond . . .But this I know;
I loved you so –‘twas heaven here with you!
