CONSTRUCTION WORKS – REHABILITATION OF HOUT BAY MAIN ROAD Transport for Cape Town, the City of Cape Town’s transport authority, will be commencing with road works along Hout Bay Road, between the Victoria Road and Princess Street traffic circles. The road works are planned to start on Monday 25 May 2015 and continue for a period of approximately 5 months in two phases. This will allow for the much needed rehabilitation of the road surface, road widening and improvement of the line of sight at the bend south of Payne Road. Phase 1: Work will commence on the section between Payne Road and Scott Road. Traffic in a north bound direction will not be affected. There will be local access only in a southbound direction from the Victoria Road traffic circle until Payne Road. Phase 2: Work will continue between Payne Road and Victoria Road traffic circle. Traffic in a north bound direction will not be affected. There will be north and south access between the entrance to Berg and Dal and Princess Street. SPORTS TUCK SHOP We have a fantastic team of parents who work in our sports tuck shop which is becoming more and more popular at sports events. Our tuck shop needs the following things to run more smoothly and efficiently: Drying up cloths Washing cloths Chopping boards Knives – for cutting and spreading Egg lifters Scissors Plastic bowls Plastic platters Trays If you would like to donate any of these items, please drop them off at the front office. You could even use this as an excuse to buy yourself some new things and give us the used ones! SPORT Please note that we expect all children to play one winter sport and to attend practices. No practice = no match. If a child is unable to attend a practice they are to excuse themselves from the practice and or match. No kit = no match. All children playing in a match are to have the correct school sports kit or they will NOT be allowed to play. HOCKEY The U12 hockey girls played in The Grove Hockey tournament last Friday. It was a challenging afternoon of hockey and the girls had fun. The girls played really well and learnt a lot from the tournament. Thank you to Ms Bursey and Ms Joubert for taking them to the tournament and to all the parents who lifted and supported the girls. SOCCER The Girls soccer team played against Highlands last Friday. This was a good game and Kronendal managed to clinch the win 3- 0. Well done to the girls. RUGBY The rugby boys played their first rugby fixture last Friday evening against Primrose Rugby Club. Despite losing their games, the boys did us proud by playing well and being good sportsmen. Thank you to the Tuck Shop Mum’s for once again giving up your time for the school. To all the parents who came down to support – thank you, it was great having you here. We are in desperate need of rugby players. For some reason we do not have enough U9 and U10/11 players.
