The desire to create a truly ‘premium’ brand image
drives the rapid growth of clear-on-clear selfadhesive applications and opening up a huge
range of possibilities for label designers. Alcoholic
drinks company Henkell & Co. Vinpol Polska Sp.
Z o.o (Vinpol) wanted to achieve the ultimate
contemporary and sophisticated look for its entire
Canari product range, and Avery Dennison worked
closely with the brand owner team and label printer
to develop an enhanced labelling solution.

for Avery Dennison in Poland, said that Vinpol wanted to
achieve the highest possible label transparency:
We have a good working relationship with Vinpol, and
we were confident that we could help them to develop exactly
the right label. The final ‘look’ of clear-on-clear constructions
is critically dependent on the extent to which we can make a
label facestock almost disappear. That means using not only
a thin film, but also the right adhesive with the required clarity.
This is one of the biggest challenges and an area in which
Avery Dennison excels.
At the outset of the project, Vinpol was already using
competitive material featuring PET30 liner and a standard
emulsion adhesive in the industry. The ambition of achieving
still greater label transparency meant considering new
options and the Avery Dennison team suggested PP50 Top
Clear- S7000-PET23, featuring the innovative ClearCut™
S7000 adhesive. Apart from the improved appearance, this
construction had the important additional advantage of PET23
liner providing sustainability gains related to usage of thinner
label constructions.

material looked very promising when first suggested:
Our client Vinpol was determined to achieve an
extreme level of label transparency to support its brand
image. Up to this point, we had not been able to find a
suitable material that gave us both the clarity and the
sustainability performance we wanted. This product
proved to be the best choice out there for us in terms of
sustainability, and using a material as thin as this also had
many operational benefits. We have been able to increase
productivity, with more labels on each roll and hence lower
transport costs and savings in changeover times.
EXACT service option enabled us to keep inventory low
while meeting demand on time. Our move to this new
material has proved to be trouble-free.
ClearCut™ S7000
The ClearCut™ adhesive platform is an innovation that
allows high-speed dispensing and also very low levels of
adhesive bleed. S7000 delivers superb wet-out to maximize
clarity and up to 40% less bleed than ‘standard’ adhesives
reducing material waste levels and maintaining reliable
production. The construction used in this project was
supplied to Natalii Rolldruk under the EXACT service to give
the desired roll width and length, with fast delivery from the
Avery Dennison distribution centre in Poland.

the project depended on many contributions:
This result was possible because of close cooperation
between Technical Sales, Marketing and Sales support and
in-depth cross-functional collaboration with the customer.
The combination of ClearCut adhesive technology and
this collaboration are the key factors for success, because
every stage from product selection through to the final
result is fully supported. The clear-on-clear solution we have
developed here will be an important product for developing
further beverage business in Poland.
