The prefix changes the meaning of the base word, but it cannot stand alone. The prefix re- means “again”; the prefix un- can mean “not” or “opposite of.” The following words are this week’s Target Vocabulary words. During reading assessments, one portion of the test will cover vocabulary. To be aboard is to be on or inside a vehicle, such as a ship or a train. An anchor is a heavy metal object that keeps a ship in place. Spotted means saw or seen. A bay is a sheltered part of the sea that cuts into the land.
