This is your invitation to play in our Laux Memorial Golf Tournament. We hope you can
attend and participate in a great weekend of fellowship and golf. This will be our 54th year

Friday June 26th:
o If you would like to golf prior to the Calcutta, tee times will be available for
those who would like to golf at Miracle Hills. Please contact Miracle Hills at
402-498-0220 for reservations.
o Ladies Laux at Miracle Hills tee times starting at 4:00 – contact Karen Sides
402-453-8487 or Gay O’Neill 402-453-8212 for more information.
o Calcutta – Miracle Hills 1401 N 120th St, Omaha, NE 68154 Starting at 7pm.
This will be the only chance to be a part of the Pari-Mutuel Event. (This
event is open to everyone who would like to attend).
Saturday June 27th.
o Golf - Shoreline Golf Course 210 Locust St, Carter Lake, IA 712-347-5173,
shotgun start at 8:00 sharp. Please check in by 7:30.
o Stag – Kelly’s North Bowl, 8701 N 30th St, Omaha, NE 68112 immediately
following golf, we will provide food and refreshments and even a couple of
fun events. Bring your bowling ball!!! (This event is for golfers only).
Sunday June 28th.
o Golf – Tee times starting at 9:00, times will be assigned based on Saturday
scores, NO EXCEPTIONS.
o Awards Banquet Dinner – Gorat’s 4917 Center St, Omaha, NE 68106 402551-3733, you may select from Steak, Fish, Chicken or a Large Salad
(Vegetarian). Cocktails at 6:45 dinner at 7:45. (Event for golfers and 1 guest).
We will be keeping the entry fee at $175, this entry fee includes all of the items above and
automatically includes you in our skin game. Please return your entry fee and dinner
selections post marked by May 15th to reserve your spot in the tournament. If you send in
the fees after May 15th you will be required to include a late fee of $25 to be eligible for
tournament play. Beginning May 15th, we will be also be opening the invitations to those
new players wishing to play and pay the entry fee. Entries will be limited to the first 100
paid entries, so please get your money in early as we are sending out over 130 initial
invitations, so get you entries in early.
Please return the attached registration form and indicate who you are planning to play with
on Saturday and your dinner selections for you and your guest for the Sunday banquet
dinner, if you do not indicate a dinner preference you will be assigned a steak as your meal.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1. You may elect not to be in the Calcutta Pool, but please indicate that if you wish to opt out, if you do not
opt out you will be considered to be a part of the Calcutta, and you are not sold for at least $40.00, you
will own yourself for that amount. You will be expected to pay your $40 on Sunday prior to golf or risk
the possibility of not being invited back next year. The Calcutta information will be provided at the golf
course on Saturday and Sunday and also posted on our website. Please make sure if you are sold in the
Calcutta and want the opportunity to buy a part of yourself please contact the person who bought
you prior to golf on Saturday to make the arrangements. Since it is a shotgun start all players are
there and available for contact.
2. Low Gross will also be a part of the Calcutta payouts and we will pay the top 2 spots including ties, this is
a great way to cash in, so be sure to attend the Calcutta and pick yourself a winner.
3. You can choose those with whom you wish to play on Saturday, and we will do the best we can to
accommodate your request, but please check with the others in your group to make sure they actually
want to play with you. We will do our best to make sure you play with who you want on Saturday
however this is not always possible as some golfers put in multiple requests for the same people. Final
pairings will be determined by the committee.
4. The Sunday foursomes will be set based on Saturday’s scores in reverse order. No exceptions. Sunday
play is for a percentage of the price money, also this tournament has a lot of good people, and so we
encourage you to golf with some one new. The only way to keep this tournament strong is to know who is
in the tournament and meet new people and help the long term health of out tournament.
5. Please remember that our handicapping bi-laws now state that any first year player may have his handicap
adjusted after the first day of play if the player did not provide a legitimate handicap prior to the date his
handicap was issued by the handicap committee. We are trying to keep a level playing field.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone again. Remember entry fees are to be postmarked no
later than May 15th or there will be a $25 late charge if you want to play in the Tournament.
Please remember to choose a meal selection for both you and your guest, if you leave this blank
we will assign your meal as the Steak Dinner. Checks should be made payable to Laux

Provide a sponsor and get $25:
We would like to give you an opportunity to reduce your cost for the tournament by
providing you a rebate if you provide us a new hole sponsor. Sponsors allow us to
provide that little something extra for the players and help keep our costs in line.
Hole sponsorship is $150 which covers sponsors being mentioned at the Calcutta, stag and
banquet dinner along with 2 days of signs on the golf course and yearlong display on our
website, www.lauxgolf.com.
We are going to continue to give you the opportunity to receive cash back after the
tournament for providing us a paying sponsor. Here is how it works:
• If you know someone who would like to sponsor a hole and the sponsor
provides a check for the sponsorship by June 15th, you will receive a $25 cash
rebate to be paid to you following the tournament. All checks will be mailed
out after the tournament has concluded.
• You will need to provide the information for the interested sponsor to any of
the Directors, we will need a contact name, address and phone number for the
business.
• For those of you that own your own business and would like to sponsor a hole,
you will get a reduced rate of only $125 to sponsor a hole. Just include a check
for $300 which will include your entry fee $175 and sponsor fee at a reduced
rate of $125 (normal rate $150). Please provide the name, address, phone and
fax numbers as well as your business E-mail and a brief description of your
business which we will then put on our website.
• Only 1 rebate check per sponsor, but you may provide as sponsors as you
would like and you would receive $25 for each, you could potentially play for
free if you can provide enough new sponsors.

• Sponsors will be mentioned at all of our events – Calcutta, Stag and Dinner. (Really
we are going to try and do a better job of this).
• Signs on holes which will be displayed on the golf course for 2 days

your webpage.
Bowling after golf
This year we will be returning to Kelly’s North Bowl for our Stag event after
golf. We had a few guys take part in bowling and some side action. Last year the
food was great and Pat and his staff did a great job of hosting our stag. For
those of you who may be unaware our stag is immediately following golf, we will
head to Kelly’s North Bowl for a lunch, beverages and a little fun. There will be
plenty of food and we will have free tap beer available, there is also a full service
bar available for those who might want a specialty beer or mixed drink.
We invite everyone to stop by and get to meet someone new and try to give
everyone a reason to hang around and tell old stories, play cards, bowl, and
enjoy other activities.
We will also be bringing back an old tradition of offering door prizes again, if
you have items that you would like to donate for door prizes please contact Al
Rotella or Ken Fritz Jr.
So don’t forget to pack your bowling ball and maybe we can get some pot games
or individual one on one or team events lined up. (There will be a minimal
charge for bowling but it will be at a reduced rate for us, Thanks Pat).
Pat Haines has graciously offered to open his establishment exclusively to us so
we will be the only ones there, so please make plans to attend and stick around
for a while to enjoy!!!
