LAWTON City-Wide Garage Sale June 13th
In the past, the City-Wide Garage Sale has been a very successful event for residents of Lawton. This is a great opportunity to clear out your closets, basement and garage! If
you are planning to participate and want to the included on
the map, register by June 8th by mailing or delivering the completed registration
form and $5 to Connie Bremer (712-944-5854) 430 E Maple St., Lawton. The fee
will go towards advertising for this event as well as supporting the L-B National
Honor Society. Registration forms are also available at Pronto or City Hall. Be
sure to let Connie know if you will be open on Friday the 12th.
CITY WIDE CLEAN UP DAY will be June 18th.
Items should be
boxed, bundled or bagged prior to setting it curbside. As in the past, ITEMS
THAT WILL NOT BE PICKED UP include tires, batteries, oil, paint, or any other
hazardous materials. Appliances will be picked up by another firm earlier in the
week.
2015 Pet Tags are in.
Current pet tags expire June 30th. City code requires all dogs & cats over 3 months of age be registered. Proof of Current rabies vaccination is needed. The fee is $5 for neutered or spayed pets, $10 if
not. The 2015 tags are good until June 30, 2016. The “pet penalty” of $3 per pet per month for not
licensing your pets in a timely manner is expected to increase after July 1, 2015 to $3 for the first delinquent month, and then $25 per month per pet thereafter. The 2015 tags are a gold star shape.
It is important to put your tag on your pet’s collars
in case they need to be identified or are lost. The
tag helps us reunite the pets with their owners and
can prevent a costly trip to the humane society.
