Ken Demark “Surviving in Today’s Technology”
Ken Demark founded BOLD Technologies, a computer repair and support company, in
1990. As a small business owner, Ken has a deep understanding, and a personal perspective,
of the issues facing small businesses. He is able to help other small business owners navigate
the ever changing landscape of technology. Always making sure the technology serves the
business, rather than being a slave to it.
His first client was a law firm, and 25 years later they are still a client. Ken and his staff of 10, now service
over 400 law firms and individual attorneys in the Metro Detroit Area. Specializing in law firm technology,
Ken and his firm have mastered the technology needs of the legal world.
Serving as the IT department for small businesses, BOLD handles basic hardware, software, network
installation and maintenance needs. They also specialize in; time and billing, website design, e-mail, cloud
based applications, productivity, security, case management and even Word Perfect.
JoAnn Hathaway “ Practice Management Software - Your Firm’s Swiss Army Knife”
JoAnn Hathaway is a Practice Management Advisor for the State Bar of Michigan. Previously,
Ms. Hathaway worked as a legal liability claims director and risk manager, paralegal, and legal
administrator. She is an Adobe Acrobat Certified Expert, and holds software Certifications
in Clio, LexisNexis, Time Matters, and Billing Matters software. She is active in the ABA
Law Practice Management Division, serving on the Education Board, Publications Board,
Membership Development Committee, and the State and Local Bar Outreach Committee. She is a frequent
speaker on law firm technology, and risk and practice management topics.
