PROJECT UPDATE - MAIN WORKS
STAFF UPDATE
Construction Progress
Construction continues at a cracking
pace and the new hospital continues to
rise. You can actually begin to visualise
just how big the new Emergency and
Renal units will be compared to their
existing location. So far we are
approximately 53% through the
construction programme. Milestone
works to date:

The level 4 link bridge
slab has been completed.

Level 5 (Emergency)
suspended slab has been
completed.

Level 6 Formwork and
reinforcement progressing.

Infrastructure works
along Uralba Street continues.

A new main entrance door has
been installed in the hospital. In
April 2015 work is scheduled to
commence on the new main entry
area to the hospital however
further detailed will be provided
once construction schedules have
been finalised.

Australian Government contributing $60 million and the State providing $20 million.

Interesting Facts
In construction so far:

2500 cubic metres of concrete has been poured which equates to
approximately 25 km’s of footpath. Total concrete for the project is 6000
cubic metres.

200 tonnes of steel reinforcement have been laid to date which equates to
approximately 130 Holden Commodores. Total steel reinforcement fro the
project is 700 tonnes.
