Ingredients: Beef, water, contains less than 2% of the following: allspice, celery juice powder, evaporated corn syrup, garlic powder, ginger, honey, lactic acid starter culture, mustard, nutmeg, onion powder, paprika, pepper, sea salt. New Dietary Guidelines for Health: Every 5 years the Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee (DGAC) puts out new recommendations for eating in the United States. Americans still do not eat enough fruit, whole grains and vegetables. The DGAC recommends a diet pattern high in vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat dairy, seafood, legumes and nuts; lower in red and processed meats, low in added sugars, refined grains, saturated fats and sodium. For the first time, the Committee recommends a meal pattern rather than focusing on single nutrients. 5th Grade Community Give Back Project This year, the fifth graders will be holding a food drive to collect food for Loudoun Interfaith Relief. SC ES Field Day 2015 Friday, April 24 8:30 am-12:30 pm Volunteers Needed ASAP Please Contact Mrs. Riggio [email protected] Partial and Full Day volunteer slots available Dear Parents, As we come close to the end of the school year, it is very important that you stay on top of your child(s) lunch account for any “Low” or “Negative” balances. It is our goal to end the school year with a balance of $0.00 dollars. Any funds left on the account will roll-over to the 2015-2016 school year. As we give notes to your child to take home, sometimes these notes get lost or thrown away. Please ask your child on a weekly basis if they have enough funds in their account to get them through the end of the school year. ANY ACCOUNTS with a NEGATIVE BALANCE will limit the student to have access to some of the cafeteria items offered. You may check the status of your child’s account by going https://www.myschoolbucks.com/ and follow the easy step-by-step instructions on the screen. You may pay your child’s account in 3 ways: By via the internet at https://www.myschoolbucks.com/ Or Send cash with the student. If you send cash inside an envelope, make sure the student’s name or student ID # is written. Or Send check written out to “County of Loudoun.” On the memo section of the check, please write in the student ID #. **If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s lunch account, please contact Luis Renteria, the cafeteria manager at 571-252-2253. Phoenix Grade Book Parent Portal and ParentVUE September 2015 – It’s a new school year and a new Parent Grade Portal: For the 2015 school year, all teachers will transition from using the CLARITY gradebook to the Phoenix Grade Book to enter student grades. Parents will also transition to a new (and improved) parent portal called ‘ParentVUE’. Parent Portal Highlights: The purpose of an academic parent portal is to provide parents with near real-time access to information on assignments and grades, attendance, class schedules, graduation status and more. ParentVue offers a single sign-on to view school information for all siblings, regardless of the grade level or school of attendance. ParentVUE is available as a mobile app or via the web-based parent portal accessed on any internet enabled device. Parents can review and update contact information (phone numbers and email addresses), eliminating the current Parent Information Management System (PIMS). Easy access to communication tools throughout the various ParentVUE screens promotes the contact between home and school that is necessary for student success. Parents can elect to receive customized email alert notifications regarding timely issues, such as school events, or attendance. Parents can elect to go paperless with report cards. While the website is accessible over the Internet, access is secured via a user name and password. Parents can see information about their children, only, and cannot see the records of other students. To view the FAQs page, go to http://www.lcps.org/Page/150204 on any internet enabled device.
