Uptown Leamington BIA Part-Time Coordinator Job Description The Uptown Leamington Business Improvement Area (BIA) represents businesses in the uptown area. Our role is to develop the uptown core through beautification, general improvements and upgrades, promotion, events, and marketing. Job Title: Part-Time BIA Coordinator Salary: $22,500/Year plus phone allowance of $30/month Job Description: The BIA Coordinator will become the face of the Uptown Leamington BIA by promoting Leamington as well as providing administrative support and general assistance to the BIA Board. The individual must be a self-motivated, outgoing and possess strong organizational and communication skills to ensure that priorities are assigned to projects and activities in accordance with what is set forth by the Board. The BIA Coordinator must be personable, energetic, and organized as well as comfortable working with a team of local business owners to develop and implement their ideas and encourage a positive future of growth and prosperity for Leamington. Qualifications: College diploma in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or an equivalent field or experience Experience developing and implementing business cases and grant or funding application processes Experience demonstratingstrong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and financial management skills Motivated, organized, detail-oriented with the ability to concurrently manage projects and initiatives Experience with computer software including Microsoft Office Strong knowledge of marketing, social media, and online communications Experience building and managing teams, relationships with community partners, liaise with the Municipality, and managing conflict Knowledge of the geographical, social, economic and cultural make up of Leamington Experience working with Associations, Not-for-Profit or BIA organizations a benefit would be an asset Duties: Reporting to the Board of Management through the BIA Chair (or designate), the Coordinator’s responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Assist, distributeand create effective communications (emails, newsletters, marketing materials) between the board/committee and the public/business member Maintain and manage website, social media accounts, and marketing strategy Establish and maintain a member database Support, promote and implement BIA events, festivals and beatification projects – required to plan 2 events per year Coordinate volunteers when necessary utilizing local resources and talents Implement programs and policies as approved by the Board such as the CIP Program Assist in the establishment of positive, constructive and proactive relationships with the BIA Members; work collaboratively and leverage relationships with other like-minded community partners and service groups that may impact BIA initiatives (e.g. Leamington Chamber and Municipality) Attend,schedule and prepare agenda, minutes, notes, and follow up of monthly meetings Attend BIA Conference annually Prepare cheques, invoices and other financial documents in collaboration with treasurer Perform and establish cycle of visitation to merchant member Other duties as assigned
