Dear Parents,
The Learning Community Day School is happy to offer a summer program, Summer Fun
2015, for 3, 4, and 5 year olds. The program will offer three, 1 week sessions: June 1
through June 5, June 8 through June 12, June 15 through June 19. The hours of each
session will be 9:00AM – 1:00PM Monday through Friday for 4 and 5 year olds, and
9:00AM – 12:15PM Monday through Friday for all 3 year olds. Please refer to the fee
schedule which is included.
The program will incorporate a gross motor curriculum that will include fun,
developmentally appropriate large motor activities. Coach will meet with each class
2 times a week and during this time will focus on skills that promote locomotion,
stability, upper and lower body strength, eye-hand coordination, and team building.
Research has demonstrated that children who develop gross motor skills have
healthier bodies, a more positive self-image, opportunities to develop social skills
and are better problem solvers.
Summer Fun will also continue to explore themes based on children’s interests. Children
will have opportunities to be scientists, artists, explorers, and inventors. We will
celebrate their creativity in paint, song, dance, nature studies, water play (sprinklers), and
cooperative games. Special guests will visit like Danny Magic, our resident science
teacher, Frank, Nappy Shadow Puppets, and Animal Embassy.
The camp is open exclusively to currently enrolled and incoming LCDS families until
March 20, 2015. After that date, any remaining spaces will become available to the
public. The summer enrollment is limited. Spaces are filled on a first come, first serve
basis. Sign up early!

Each day will offer children a chance to explore topics such as water, animals, rocks and
minerals, exploration of shoes and feet, outer space and other topics of interest to them.
We listen to children’s conversations and observe their play to gather ideas and themes
that are important to them, and that form a foundation for relevant and meaningful
curriculum. We try to seize opportunities that will expand a child’s thinking and draw on
their prior knowledge.

Our counselor/child ratio is 1/4 (Young Threes) & 1/8 (Threes, Fours & Fives).
Spaces are filled on a first come, first serve basis when the registration forms and tuition
are received. You will be notified of your child’s acceptance by mail and will receive other
required forms to complete enrollment. Each child needs an updated physical (within the
year) in order to attend the program. Enrollment is limited. If you have any questions

Full payment for All Sessions is due UPON Enrollment.
Tuition is non-refundable and cannot be applied to another program.
Failure to make payments in full by the due date will relinquish your child’s space.
