The Elections will be at the May meetings but nominations start at the March meetings. See any officer if you wish to be on the boards. Lenette Wallace, Auxiliary President CHAPLAIN This is the time of year that is hard to name. Winter still holds on but Spring is trying to get a foothold. Who can predict the time and date that we actually make the change? Some people say that they can read tea leaves. Others have visions, dreams or a feeling. I have talked to some of these people during a search for a little girl that was missing. When they would call with their "information", I would ask, "But do you have hard evidence that we can pass on to investigators?" The answer was always the same. "No, but..." We are in the same boat. This is the time of year for nominations to be made for election of officers at our American Legion Post. What would you like to see us do for the next Legion year? Who would be a good officer in each of the positions on the ballot? Will we grow as a Post or will we slide backward? Hold our own? None of us can predict the outcome but we can have a say in who our officers are by nominating and being present to vote. We can serve on committees. We can come to the monthly meetings and participate, thus holding our elected officers accountable. It is your Post as well as mine. District 5 Convention is May 7th at Commerce City Post 151. Anyone wishing to attend please see a Legion Officer. Our Jimmy Walker has announced his intention to run for District 5 Commander. Detachment meeting will be April 11th at Post 178. DD214’s – The IRS is auditing Posts to ensure we are complying with our internal records. Please take a moment to check if you have one on file. Even if you think you do, please check with us.
