The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society To Present Northrop Grumman’s James Palmer
with the Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award
Retiring CFO & Corporate Vice President To Be Honored at 2015 Leukemia Ball Presented by PhRMA
March xx, 2015 (Washington, D.C.) - The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) will honor James Palmer, Vice
President and CFO of Northrop Grumman Corporation for his extraordinary achievements and impact on the
mission of LLS. Jim and his family have been involved with LLS for more than a decade, helping to raise funds
and awareness to help LLS achieve its goal of a world without blood cancers.
Following the loss of his son to acute leukemia, Jim dedicated himself to helping to prevent other families from
experiencing the devastating heartbreak and loss he and his family lived through. Through the Team in
Training program, Jim completed multiple marathons while raising money for the life-saving research and
patient programs LLS supports.
“LLS is pleased to honor Jim for his lifetime of support of LLS and his extraordinary impact on our mission,” said
Beth Gorman, National Capital Area Chapter Executive Director. “We are incredibly thankful for the support
he and Northrop Grumman have given to LLS over the years, and know we are just one of many organizations

Jim’s impact on our communities extends far beyond blood cancers. Through his exceptional leadership at
Northrop Grumman and a member of its contributions committee, Jim has promoted a culture of giving back
and a commitment to transforming and empowering communities in which Northrop Grumman employees
work and live. His vision and passion for developing stronger communities has improved the lives of countless
individuals through education, human services and the support of our troops and veterans.
The Leukemia Ball will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center,
featuring comedian Howie Mandel, and musician Michael Cavanaugh. The event is expected to raise $3.1
million for LLS’s mission: cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma and improve the quality
