Liberty Middle School 21500 East Dry Creek Road Aurora, Colorado 80016 720.886.2400 May 4, 2015 Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s) of Liberty Middle School Eighth Graders, On Monday, June 1st, the annual Cherry Creek School District eighth grade celebration will be held at Elitch Gardens. Students should arrive at Liberty at 7:50 am and will attend their scheduled classes. They will leave Liberty for Elitch Gardens at approximately 9:00 am and return to school at approximately 5:00 pm. Transportation to and from Elitch Gardens will be by district school bus. The purchase price of the ticket is $40.00, which covers admission, transportation, and lunch. If students have a season pass to Elitch Gardens, their cost will be $20.00 to cover associated lunch and transportation fees. Lunch is a “Meal Deal Coupon” that is good at any location in the part for one entrée item or basket and small fountain soda. Students will have access to use the entire park including the Island Kingdom Water Park. Students not attending this field trip may NOT purchase tickets through Liberty Middle School and will NOT be the responsibility of Liberty Middle School. Supervision will be provided on the buses and students will have assigned buses both to and from the amusement park. It is important to note that if your child rides the bus to Elitches, he/she must return to Liberty on the bus (NO EXCEPTIONS). Buses will depart Elitch Gardens at approximately 4:15 pm to return to Liberty at approximately 5:00 pm. CCSD transportation may have other commitments for these buses and therefore the buses must leave the park in a timely manner. If a student fails to arrive to the bus by 4:00 pm parents may be required to use their own transportation to pick up their child at the park. Please pick up your child in the lower Liberty Middle School parking lot of no later than 5:30 p.m. Your child is expected to behave in a manner that complies with Cherry Creek’s Code of Conduct. If a student refuses or fails to follow school expectations, you will be contacted and may be asked to pick up your son/daughter to escort him/her home. In order for your child to successfully participate in this activity, he/she must: 1) Be eligible to participate. As stated in 4th quarter dean talks, students may lose their privilege to participate in this culminating event due to a pattern or level of disruptive behavior. Deans and/or the grade level administrator will notify you if your child will not be permitted to attend. 2) Return the attached permission form with your payment for $40.00 or $20.00 (if student has Elitch season pass) to their PRIDE teacher by Friday, May 15, 2015. Make checks payable to “Liberty Middle School” with a reference to “Elitch Gardens” plus your child’s name (first and last) in the memo line. 3) Pay any outstanding fees (i.e. library, textbook fines, athletic uniform, etc.) by Friday, May 15th, 2015. Fines can be turned into the bookkeeper, located in the Liberty Main Office. Again, checks should be made out to “Liberty Middle School” with a reference to “Fines” plus your child’s name (first and last) in the memo line. Monday, June 1st is the last day of the school year for eighth graders. If your child is ineligible to participate or chooses not to participate in the Elitch Gardens outing supervision at the school will be provided.
