Diesel Systems Common Rail System CRSN Baseline for medium- and heavy-duty off-highway applications The CRSN Baseline Systems are full-featured Common Rail Systems for medium- and heavy-duty off-highway Customer benefits (OHW) applications. They have been specifically Optimized performance under all environmental designed based on the requirements of conditions the Chinese market. All system components are Contributes towards achieving future emission manufactured locally. legislation (e.g. Tier 3, Tier 4 interim/final) High power/torque even at low engine speeds In contrast to mechanical systems that build up Optimized fuel efficiency and reduced noise pressure for each injection individually, the Common Easy integration into existing and future engine Rail System decouples the fuel-pressure generation platforms from the actual fuel-injection process, which enables Fast response to transient operation conditions high-pressure generation even at low engine speed Limp-home operation and thus lowers fuel consumption and emissions Qualified systems with up to 8,000 hours while offering higher torque. In addition, the intelligent lifetime even at high percentage of full-load electronic control unit of the Common Rail System operation supports flexible software functionality development Optimized robustness for OHW applications based on customer-specific requirements. Customer benefits: CRSN2-16-BL Possible applications Contributes towards achieving Tier 3, The CRSN Baseline system family can be applied in the Tier 4 interim off-highway sector such as agricultural, construction Customized for China and mining machines, marine applications and power Localized system generators. Customer benefits: CRSN3-18-BL Operating principle Contributes towards achieving Tier 4 interim/final The Common Rail System family for off-highway Customized for China applications has been developed on the basis of Localized system proven commercial-vehicle system components. In adapting it for off-highway operation, we have specifically taken into account critical operation conditions with long periods of full-load operation. Anti-wear measures for the hydraulic components ensure a lifetime of up to 8,000 operating hours even when using fuel with low lubricity. This multi-injec- Oil (CB28, CPN2), fuel (CP4) Vane pump, gear pump Tier 4 interim/final fuel consumption and subsequently CO2 output as Mounting of the pump Lubrication of the pump Pre-supply pump Emission target tion capability contributes to a further reduction of well as reduced noise and exhaust-gas emissions. The CRIN3-18-BL injector allows further fuel savings. It reduces the return flow to the low-pressure circuit. System components: CRSN2-16-BL This means the high-pressure pump has to deliver less 1 2 3 fuel and thus requires less driving power, which increases the system efficiency. Since the injector’s dimensions have not been changed, engine manufacturers can convert their current engines to the new, higher-pressure system with low modification effort. 4 5 6 All system functions are monitored and controlled by the Electronic Diesel Control (EDC17). The EDC constantly monitors engine parameters and prevents the 1 CB28-16/2-OHW 2 CPN2-16/2-OHW 3 CP4/2-16-OHW 4 CRIN2-16-BL 5 HFRN-16 PLV 6 EDC17CV44/54 engine from damages by informing the operator and delivering diagnostic support. The EDC can be programmed for different engine requirements without the need of exchanging the fuel injection hardware, e.g. different power rating, different torque curves and fixed or variable speed. The EDC17 is suitable for System components: CRSN3-18-BL 1 chassis mounting, optionally also for engine mounting. 2 3 Outlook A 2,000 bar system specifically designed for the Chinese market is under development. 4 5 6 Bosch Automotive Diesel Systems Co., Ltd. 17 Xinhua Road, New District, Wuxi 214028, Jiangsu, P.R.
