The BUZZ had a blast taking pictures and dancing
with the mascots at ACC Fan Fest. We had a great time
playing games and enjoying the festivities that Fan Fest
had to offer..
THE COLLEGE CHRONICLE
Interview With…
This month, The BUZZ visited Livingstone College and had a
guided tour lead by Stacey. Since opening their doors in 1879,
Livingstone has provided generations of students with opportunities
to develop themselves academically, intellectually, and spiritually to
their fullest potential.
Stacey told us about some of her favorite classes and we told
her about some of our classes that we take at Lindley College. When
Stacey is not in class or studying for a big test, she enjoys going to
the sporting events on campus. Stacey is a fan of the Tennis matches
and the Track and Field events.

St. Patrick’s Day Party!
This month the Fury students studied the history
of St. Patrick and the origins of the St. Patrick’s Day
holiday.
We celebrated the Irish-American holiday by
making and eating corned beef, stewed potatoes,
sautéed cabbage, soda bread, and some delicious
desserts! We ended our celebration by dancing a jig
and wishing each other a “bit o’luck”!

Student Project
Interview With…
This month, the Fury
students researched,
designed, and built a
set of corn-hole boards.
These custom made
corn-hole boards will be
used at every picnic and
game day that we have
at the Clemmons
Lindley College!
Our students interviewed Jalisha from Winston
Salem State University. Besides being in the process of
earning her masters degree at WSSU, Jalisha is also a
Hall Director at Brown Residence Hall.
She is
responsible for supervising 8 residential assistance and
the units that they oversee.
We learned that in order to be a Hall Director,
you must be pursuing your masters degree, keep at
least a 2.5 GPA, and have strong leadership skills.
Our students asked Jalisha what are the some
rules of living on campus. We we learned that students
must show each other and the building respect, not
have alcohol or drugs on their person or in their rooms,
and girls and boys are not allowed to stay past curfew
on each other’s floor. Violations of these rules may
result in expulsion from the dorms.
Thank you to Jalisha and WSSU for a great
campus experience.
Go Ram’s!
HAPPY
BIRTHDAY!!!

Lindley College would like to wish all of our
students born in February a very Happy Birthday!

The Hurricanes went to Concord Mills to visit the Sea Life Aquarium. The trip
was very interesting, and our group really enjoyed seeing all the different creatures
of the sea. The aquarium has been beautifully crafted to lead through a maze of
exhibits. We had a chance to touch some of the creatures, like the orange starfish
in it’s exhibit. We walked through a Glass Tunnel and saw thousands of fish
swimming over our heads.

ACC Fan Fest
As part of our
Wellness curriculum,
We went to the Greensboro Coliseum Complex to
take part in ACC Fan Fest.. First, we took pictures and got
our face painted with our favorite team’s logos. Next, we
played some basketball mini games and won some cool
prizes! We had fun seeing many of the ACC mascots. Some
of our favorite mascots were the Duke Blue Devil, the UNC
Ram, and the Clemson Tiger.
we went to the Deep
River Gym in
Jamestown, NC to
play a fun game of
basketball. On this
particular visit, we
mixed things up a bit
and played a game
of Boys vs. Girls. This
was a great workout
for everyone.
Interview With…
The Hurricanes had the opportunity to see what it’s like
to be a fireman during our interview with Marcus. Marcus lead
us on a tour of the station and talked about some of their daily
duties, such keeping the station spotless and trading off
cooking meals.
We spent most of the time in the garage where Marcus
showed us the pole they use to slide down to the first level and
we got to see all of the alarms flashing if there is a fire. When
Marcus is off from the fire station, he likes to hit the gym to stay
in shape and will occasionally play some video games to relax.

were there. Surprisingly, we ran into the
Forsyth Fury group during our scavenger
hunt. It was pretty neat getting to see our
friends from Clemmons. After visiting the
Farmer's Market, we decided to eat at the
popular Moose Cafe for lunch.
