Goals and Objectives
The goals of the Pediatric Emergency
Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization
(PEARS) Provider Course are to provide the
student with:
 The information needed for recognizing a
seriously ill or injured child by using a
systematic approach.
 The skill to demonstrate high quality CPR.
 The skill needed to begin to stabilize a
seriously ill or injured child.
 The opportunity to practice effective team
interaction.
Target Audience
The course is intended for healthcare providers
with responsibilities for the wellbeing of infants and
children.
Course Materials
AHA PEARS Provider Manual 2012. Manuals may
be obtained from the LRH Education Department
or your NCNEC Representative.

