2015 Art and Artifacts Fair and Historic Downtown Bike Ride Saturday, May 16, 2015, from 11am to 2pm Bring out your bicycle and vintage clothing to join in on the Ride the History fun bike ride at 1:45 pm that will take riders from the time capsule location across downtown to the newly opened Lee’s Summit History Museum. This family fun ride is sure to please local history buffs, cyclists and children alike. The first 100 ride participants will receive goodie bags at the Museum finish line. Register for the Historic Bike Ride at lsplanning.net or by signing up at the registration table the day of the event. The City of Lee’s Summit Historic Preservation Commission, in partnership with the Lee’s Summit Historical Society, will hold the 2nd annual Art and Artifacts Fair, in the Lobby of Lee’s Summit City Hall, 220 SE Green St, Lee’s Summit. This year’s Art and Artifacts Fair will be extra exciting with the opening of the time capsule buried at city hall as a part of the Truly 150 Sesquicentennial Celebration. Contents of the time capsule will be on display for the public at city hall throughout the event, along with other artifacts on loan from local residents and the Lee’s Summit Historical Society.
