Mr. Bimal Roy Founder and Principal Livingstone School Bangladesh At a glance LSB Information: Curriculum & Approach: Livingstone School Bangladesh is following National Curriculum & Text Book board of Bangladesh (NCTB) for both of its English and Bangla version students for primary and secondary standard education. Alongside English (British) National Curriculum & USA Curriculum are being taught to equip the students with world standard knowledge and skills. Language: The language used in the school is English. Uniform: Everybody must wear school uniform at the school. Food: We provide light but healthy snacks with free of cost during the first tiffin break every school day. Emergencies at School: In health related emergencies, the School provides first-Aid treatment to the children. E-Newsletter_Mar’15 Page 1 Events: Birth Day Ceremony: Birthdays are celebrated on the first Sunday of every month and parents may send treats for the children on that day. Our school created this blog to raise awareness and start a dialogue about the various issues. By writing about it, we hope to provide parents and educators with ideas and inspiration for making healthy changes in their own schools. LSB Observed Independence Day: Independence Day is commonly associated with parades, political speeches, fairs, concerts, and ceremonies, and various other public and private events celebrating the history, and traditions of Bangladesh. LSB has celebrated Independence Day on 26 March, 2015 well and organized cultural events. During this event all parents of students were present and enjoyed a colourful cultural program. Satellite School observed Independence Day: Our Satellite School is a step towards helping achieve this goal. It is located at Chaklabazar village, Parbatipur under Dinajpur district where we provide quality formal and non-formal education to the children in an adequate environment. We also organized various events on Independence Day in there and distributed prizes among the students. Motorbike Hand over: Here is good news for us that our LSB has organized Motorbike handover ceremony on 29 March, 2015. Our respected donor Mr. Steve Laible is distributing motorbike to our Principal Mr. Bimal Roy. The ceremony happened successfully and gave the unforgettable memories for the participants. During this event our honourable board members were also present. Communication with Parents: Our School organizes short meeting with parents. This is important that we encourage their children how to improve their lesson as well as gap of study. As it is the main avenue of communication between the school and parents. Parents are encouraged to communicate with teachers and the Senior Staffs on any matters that concern to overcome any issues. E-Newsletter_Mar’15 Page 2 Specialist Teaching Areas: The school has a number of specialist areas of teaching. Specialist teachers work with the students. Computing and Technology: Our school has a strong on the use of computer and information technologies to enhance student learning. We aim to develop creative thinkers who can use computers to effectively meet a range of learning needs. We also have a multimedia projector where we can show documentary movie for better learning to the students. There are 25 computers in our school with the Internet access. Instrumental Music Tuition: A range of instrumental tuition is available to students in addition to the classroom music. Lessons take place during school time and occasionally students may be required during a break time. Parents are encouraged to be involved in their children’s practice times and to keep in contact with the music teacher. Outside School Hours Care: Our LSB service aims to provide a safe and welcoming place for children to enjoy their time in a fun and stimulating environment. This is a quality facility of children with our playground equipments.
