Why, What, When:
Onwards and Upwards
It's the same but even better.
I am very excited about the next chapter in the Liz
Davenport story. I have enjoyed a most amazing 40
years designing with beautiful fabrics and dressing gorgeous
clients, but I think the best is yet to come.
I have joined forces in a collaborative partnership with Creswick
Woollen Mills – a Melbourne-based family business with a group of
stores specialising in knitwear for women and men. They also create
a range of wool and alpaca homewares. Creswick knitwear sits
perfectly with the Liz Davenport concept of coordinated wardrobes.
The Travelling Boutiques will continue to visit each city for six days
of most months (Sydney, Hobart, Canberra and Adelaide) while
Victoria has large established stores where we have created
Liz Davenport boutique areas.
The Liz Davenport classics of pants, skirts, jackets, shirts,
beautiful prints and colourful plains will continue - and so will
the joyful presence of our stylist consultants - Susie in Sydney,
Marilyn in Adelaide and Tasmania, and Georgia in Victoria.
By working together and sharing the workload I will have
more time to concentrate on design and on my social media
diary and website which will tell you all about the latest
and create excitement every single day. Be sure I have your

Liz has been a leading Australian fashion designer,
manufacturer and retailer for more than 40 years.
One of only five Australian designers to receive the
highest fashion accolade – a Grand Award from the
Fashion Industries of Australia, Liz Davenport also
has an Advance Australia Award for ‘contribution
to lifestyle through fashion’ and has won the Sydney
Business Award for ‘outstanding women’s wear’.
She was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for
service to the fashion industry and the community.
Creswick Woollen Mills was established
in 1947 and is now the last coloured
woollen spinning mill of its kind in
Australia. Its six Victorian stores, website
& mail order catalogue specialise in
natural fibre knitwear, homewares &
accessories. Creswick Woollen Mills is
now run by the founder’s grandchildren,
Boaz & Sharon Herszfeld, a brother
and sister partnership.

We are thrilled to welcome the Liz Davenport Collection of
specially created boutiques within our Creswick stores in
Victoria, in Hawthorn and at the Mill in Creswick (Ballarat).
We look forward to Liz’s travelling boutiques in Sydney,
Canberra, Adelaide, Hobart and Launceston. We know you
will love our soft pure wool and cashmere knitwear as much
as she does.
Our coordinates complement Liz’s collection and we have
painstakingly matched her colour palettes and created styles
that embrace her belief in comfortable, flattering, versatile
easy-to-care-for garments at a very attractive price.
We are loving Liz’s concept of wardrobe workshops, miniparades and personal styling – showing how the two brands
enhance one another and creating a one-stop convenient
shopping experience (we also have fabulous menswear and
homewares).

America they call it a “trunk show”. The collection is
displayed in a spacious hotel suite with a size and
colour range – just like a boutique. We visit for 6 days
of most months. See the events calendar on the back
page. It’s a wonderful way to shop.
