This is a full time contract position for 1 year, with a strong possibility of extension. The ideal candidate will be required to provide nursing services to the communities of La Ronge, Sucker River, Hall Lake and Grandmother’s Bay. Duties: Utilize teaching assessment and nursing skills to effectively assist clients maintain and achieve an optimal level of health; Provide direct care by assessing client health needs, planning care, implementing interventions and evaluating outcomes; Promote healthy lifestyles, disease prevention and communicable disease control; Assess needs of Band Members and make necessary referrals; Act as a client advocate and a liaison between LLRIBHS and other agencies; Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications: In good standing and registered with the Saskatchewan Association of Licensed Practical Nurses (SALPN); Diabetes Nurse Educator certificate or willing to obtain training to get DNE Certificate; Previous Home Care, Community Health experience is an asset; Strong leadership and communication skills; Ability to work effectively as a team member and able to travel; The ability to speak and/or understand Cree is a definite asset; Must have a Class 5 Drivers license; Security Clearance: Current Criminal Record Clearance/Child Abuse Record Check and Driver’s Abstract required upon hire; Salary/Wage: Depending on Education and Experience Benefits: LLRIBHS offers a comprehensive salary and benefits package such as Recognitions, Northern Allowance, Housing Subsidy, Extended Health Care and Pension.
