SUNDAY WORSHIP
10:15 A.M.
Invite a Friend!
After Easter –
It’s after Easter and I hope that you are continuing to celebrate the
resurrection of Christ. After Easter we have another 51 Sundays
of the year to come into a house of worship and celebrate the
resurrection. Forgetting what the Sunday celebration is about is
easy. There are too many distractions and too much of life that
intervenes to keep even a serious follower of Jesus from focusing
on the good news that Christ brought to us then, and continues to
bring to us each day of our lives. The Good News is that God is
reconciled with us, our sins are forgiven, and we can live eternally
at peace with God in God’s kingdom.
Now, how we translate that Good News to our daily living is an
indication of where we are with our faith. Faith, it’s that belief in
things hoped for, yet not seen by our eyes. Things like the
forgiveness of our sins, the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and our
own resurrection to eternal life. Faith, believing that our salvation
comes because of the incarnation. Jesus was not simply spirit,
but also real flesh and blood; which made him a lot like us. A life
filled with challenges.
A resurrection faith is what each of us needs to continue facing
the challenges and problems that were in our lives before we
celebrated Easter. After Easter – we have a God who completes
the mission, who affirms the covenant, and who gives us reason to
live differently. After Easter, we have more emphasis on making
choices. Because after Easter we can claim the resurrection faith
as the reference point for all of our decision making, all of our
conversation, and all of our activities.
We are, after all, not just Easter people. We are after-Easter
people, too. We can meet life’s challenges and problems with a
resurrection faith that makes our joy complete.
Spirit Blessings, Pastor Gary

Sunday, May 3 following Worship, Townsend Hall
Sunday, April 12, I had the privilege to make this
announcement:
The consensus of our SPRC was that our Pastor, Dr.
Gary Morse be reappointed to our charge for another
year. The congregation has sought and continues to
seek spiritual growth evidenced by increased participation
of adults, youth, and children in classes, studies, missions,
and ministries. Knowing that we are serving God,
focusing on our community, we are happy and are “love
at work.”
Our profile submitted to the Bishop and his cabinet
demonstrated our increased fruitfulness which is a direct
reflection of Pastor Gary’s service to his call by God.
Gary not only is leading the congregation in our spiritual
growth, grace and activity working together, he is preparing
and equipping disciples for future ministry. He also has
been a comforter for many needing personal support.
Gary’s wife, Donna is loved as well. She shares her
time and gifts participating in our Praise Team, leading
and teaching spiritual study groups, and is active in
Sunday school. Her excitement and support of the
increased attendance of youth carries over to others.
Donna recently lost her mother and has been and is
being supported in love by our church.
Lambuth Memorial United Methodist Church celebrates
the reappointment of Dr. Gary Morse for the 2015 –
2016 year.
Grace and Blessings, Cathy Johnson
