hunger. Learn how you can get involved with this local NGO, too! April 22nd from 4:00-5:00 PM In E-203 Light refreshments will be served.

The counselors are taking nominations for American Legion Boys State and American Legion Auxiliary Girls State. These are the premier
programs for teaching how government works while developing leadership skills & an appreciation for your rights as a citizen. As a
participant in the program you, will run for office, learn public speaking, create and enforce laws and actively participate in all phases of
creating and running a working government in this exciting and fun summer program. You’ll meet other students from across your state and
develop leadership skills that will shape your future. This camp will take place June 7-12 for Boys and June 14-20th for Girls. If you are
interested in attending Boys or Girls State please go and give your name to Mrs. Fanning in the counseling center by April 24th.
The counseling office will send you pass!

Travis Sherriff’s Department for the Victims of Abuse Program! Teen Impact is collecting your old unwanted phones for the
LTSD! Chargers are great but not necessary! All phones are sent away to be professionally cleared of all data; The recipients
will only be able to dial for help or 911! Drop off boxes are located in the front office and B-202
CONGRATULATIONS LTHS GOLF TEAMS….Boys finished 5th at Regionals, Dillon Baxter advanced to State.
Girls won the Region! Kaitlyn Papp lead the team finishing 2nd Individually. Ann Parmeter and Kristen Gillman also finished in the top 5!

Substance Abuse Prevention Advisory Committee
The Lake Travis ISD Substance Abuse Prevention Advisory Committee is proposing the enhancement and expansion of the
District’s substance abuse prevention program to include offering a volunteer drug testing program for middle and high school
students.
The public is invited to learn more about the proposal and share comments with members of the committee.

The Substance Abuse Prevention Advisory Committee consists of parent, teacher, principal, and student
representation. The committee appreciates public comment that will be used in the development of final
recommendations presented to the LTISD Board of Trustees on May 19, 2015.
