THE 2015 SOUTH BEDFORDSHIRE LAWN TENNIS LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Finals day: Saturday, 5th September 2015 at Dunstable Tennis Club, Commencing 11 am.
Reserve finals day: Saturday, 12th September 2015.
RULES
1
All entrants must be a current member of a club affiliated to the South Bedfordshire Tennis
League. Players must have a current LTA player rating in order to participate in singles
events. This can be obtained on line at www.lta.org.uk/membership. It is free of charge for
members of LTA affiliated clubs.

Players are jointly responsible for matches to be completed before or on the “play by date”
shown on the LTA competitions website. Failure to complete matches by the “play by” date
will result in one or both competitors being defaulted.

All results must be confirmed to the tournament referee Brian Clare within 24 hours.
Winners will be informed a.s.a.p. who they meet in the next round and who has home
advantage.

Draws will be updated with results regularly on the LTA competitions website

Any appeals should be made to the Tournament Committee through the Tournament
Organiser. The final decision will be made by the Referee.

Matches will be the best of three full tie break sets.

For the first round of each event (including if both players have a bye) the top named player
will have choice of venue. A player with a bye awaiting opposition will have a home tie if
his opponent played at home and an away tie if his opponent played away in the first round.
Walkovers will be treated as where the match was meant to be played. Home advantage in
subsequent rounds will be given to the player who first reports their result.

All finals will be played on the Finals Day. No matches will be played after the finals event.

Under NO circumstances will players be permitted to substitute a partner once the entries
have been finalised and the draw made and published.

Seedings will be based on player rankings and ratings current on the day the draw is made.
These are available from the LTA website.

Players failing to have paid their entry fee by the date the draw is made will be deemed not to
have entered.
The event will be conducted under Lawn Tennis Association rules. Results will be submitted to the
LTA for the purposes of rankings within twenty four hours of the finals being completed. This is
after the cut off for the summer final ratings run. Singles results from this event will thus be
included in the winter 2015/16 interim ratings run. Ranking and leaderboard points will be allocated
in the end September 2015 run.
