We will provide bats, balls, catchers’ gear, helmets and other necessary equipment. You may bring any equipment you wish, but please mark it clearly for identification. Age Requirement The camp will be in two sessions for all students in grades K through 6 from any school district. Any third grade boy who would rather attend the 4th through 6th session the next week should contact Coach Lahr at 563-920-6728. CAMP TIME 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Inclement Weather Plan If it is raining at the starting time of the camp, we will most likely move the camp to the next available day or inside . A sweatshirt and sweatpants may be necessary as the weather is so unpredictable at this time of year. The Coaching Staff Nate Lahr Coach Lahr enters his second season as the head coach of the Hawks. Coach Lahr was a three year starter for the Hawks from 2005-2007. He then went on to play collegiately at Wartburg College. The Hawks finished 2014 with a 31-7 record winning the overall WaMaC Conference title and reaching the substate final. The Hawks look to build upon last year's success and continue to improve to reach the goals set for our program. Dan Cassutt Coach Cassutt joined the Hawks as a volunteer in 2010. He is a former high school head coach with great baseball knowledge. Coach Cassutt will be a varsity assistant in 2015. Clinic Fees The cost to attend the West Delaware Hawks Baseball Camp is $30. Coaches receive no stipend for the camp. All proceeds will be used towards the betterment of the West Delaware Baseball Program. If you, or someone you know, cannot afford to pay this fee due to financial constraints, let us know. We want all baseball players to have an opportunity to experience the camp. Parents and Coaches Parents and Coaches are welcome to join us at any time to observe the fundamental instruction, drills and games. Entries Due by April 24th Please have all entries turned in on, or before, April 24th. We will take late entries and walk-ins at no extra charge. Camp Features The West Delaware Hawks Baseball Camp has many features. There are a variety of different machines used to help the camper reinforce fundamentals. Games are a regular part of the daily schedule. West Delaware Varsity Hawks Members of the 2015 West Delaware Varsity Hawks baseball team will assist the coaching staff during the clinic. Our goal is to provide at least a 1 to 8 ratio of high school players to campers.
