PIONEERING AN INNOVATION
Back in the nineties, for many patients bone grafting was often needed before dental implants
could even be placed. This meant enduring the discomfort and long recovery associated with
bone grafting, along with the additional expense and a significant delay in treatment. Also for
many patients either could not be recommended for such procedures as a result of
physiological limitations. When an estimated 45% of the population over 70 in North America
and Europe is in need of a complete oral rehabilitation, it is self-evident that a more timeefficient and reliable procedure than bone grafting was needed to meet burgeoning demand.
Frustrated by traditional approaches for edentulous and patients with missing or damaged teeth,
Paulo Malo decided to tackle the problem. The objective was simple: to provide fixed, longlasting teeth on a reliable basis for totally edentulous patients.
The MALO CLINIC Protocol is in fact a major alternative to traditional dentures and dental
implant techniques. It is a safe and simple approach, yet it is completely revolutionary. With this
new procedure is possible to receive implants and a full set of non-removable teeth during a
single visit, and without the need of bone grafting. The result is a fixed (non-removable) natural
looking dentition, indistinguishable from natural teeth.

PAULO MALO
Paulo Malo was born in Angola and moved to Portugal in the 1960’s. He received his graduate
degree at the Faculty of Dental Medicine from the University of Lisbon. In 1995, he founded
MALO CLINIC. Huge success in the years that followed led to exponential growth, giving rise to
one of the most international healthcare groups today: MALO CLINIC Health & Wellness.
Throughout his career, he has also received several distinctions and awards for his medical
breakthroughs as well as management, leadership and entrepreneurial skills. Paulo Malo also
