Manifesta 11 Management & Office Intern 1 year internship placement, commencing September 2015 Manifesta, the European Biennial of Contemporary Art, is the only roving biennial, changing its location every two years aiming to investigate and reflect on current developments in contemporary art. Manifesta 11 will take place in Zurich, Switzerland in 2016 and is curated by German artist Christian Jankowski. Our internships are open to students or recent graduates who are interested in arts management and want to gain insight into how an international contemporary art biennial is organised. This is a once in a life time opportunity to get a unique, behind the scenes experience for Manifesta 11, one of the most influential biennials in the world. Main tasks As Management & Office Intern you will assist with general office management support of Manifesta 11. You will work closely with the General Coordinator and Office Manager to help with the day-to-day business of the office and support of the management team (Director, Deputy Director, Heads of Department) and FM11 Board; and assist the Office Manager with the overall internal communication of the team. The Management & Office Intern will support the General Coordinator and Office Manager with the day-to-day business of Manifesta 11: • • • • • • • • Help with the team agenda and inform team members about commitments, meetings, travels etc Assist around the office and with the maintenance of facilities including computers, phones, server, storage and office logistics Reception and hospitality of international staff, board members and other guests Assist the Office Manager with preparation and follow up of staff meetings and Heads of Department meetings Give assistance to Director, Deputy Director and Curator during their trips to Zurich Helping the General Coordinator & Office Manager with the organization and coordination of Manifesta Coffee Breaks, symposiums, special events and opening days Working with Salesforce (for contact management and internal communication) and other project management tools Be able to give support on a wide variety of different projects Required skils and experience • • • • • • • Interest in contemporary art & the organisation of large-scale cultural events Interest in office management, coordination and administrative processes Must be extremely detail-oriented, highly organized and be able to work under pressure and cooperatively in an international, dynamic, team-oriented environment Familiar with procedures of protocol Excellent facilitating and organizational skills Outgoing personality Excellent computer skills Manifesta 11 The European Biennial of Contemporary Art Sihlquai 125 8005 Zurich Switzerland Tel +41 (0)43 321 30 37 [email protected] • • • Able to manage his/her own workload as well as work in a fast paced team environment Fluency in written and spoken English and German.
