2 Medication costs
Commonly prescribed during IVF treatment – not covered by Medicare – allow up to $450
3 Day surgery fees
For privately insured patients the fee is $250.
For non privately insured patients allow up to $805 for the hospital bed fee, $380 for embryo
transfer and $250 for the anaesthetist.

The above costs are based on an initial stimulated IVF cycle for patients who have already reached the Medicare safety net.
Melbourne IVF’s “no upfront fees” payment option allows payment to occur up to 4 weeks after treatment has commenced to make IVF treatment more financially
manageable for patients. This means that Medicare rebates can be claimed within 3 to 5 working days of payment being made, reducing the amount of time
patients are out of pocket for treatment.

Patient Referrals It is necessary to have a current referral in order to be able to claim the Medicare rebate.
This can be obtained from your GP (valid for 12 months) or specialist/gynaecologist (valid for 3 months).
