The first thing you should do is check your flood hazard information list, flood maps and flood protection references are available at the Margate City Public Library. You can also call 609-822 -1974 or visit the Margate Building Department located at 9001 Winchester Avenue at the Margate Municipal Building; someone will explain base flood elevation for the area in which your house is located. If requested, the Public Works Department will visit a property to review its flood problem and explain ways to stop flooding and prevent damage. You can call Public Works at 609-822-5038 for assistance if you have a flood, drainage or sewer backup problem. If you don’t have flood insurance, talk to your insurance agent. Homeowner’s insurance policies do not cover damage from floods. However, because Margate City participates in the National Flood Insurance Program, you can purchase a separate flood insurance policy and receive a 25% reduction in your premium. • • • • • • 4 Margate Little League 2015 Season Baseball Registration Thursday: 1/29/15 @ 6:00 pm William H.
