WislineWeb: WLW links an audio connection with common web-based courseware. This enables faculty
and students to converse while interacting with each other’s documents and graphics in a real-time
classroom setting. Note: There is a per credit technology fee for all WLW courses. Textbooks must be
purchased through Neebo Online Bookstore.
Compressed Video: CV utilizes audio, computer and video connections simultaneously. This enables
faculty and students to converse and interact with each other’s coursework while viewing each other in
a real-time classroom setting. Note: There is a per credit technology fee for all CV courses. Textbooks
must be purchased through Neebo Online Bookstore.
Streaming Video: Streaming Video courses feature recorded lectures and class sessions which are accessed via the Internet. It’s like being in the classroom, but at home. You can view course content as
many times as you like. Note: There is a per credit technology fee for all Streaming courses.
Flipped Curriculum: Students are expected to watch short videos prepared by the instructor in advance
of class so that in-class time can be used for collaborative, problem-solving, and/or discussion-oriented
activities. Some courses are delivered completely via flipped curriculum, while other instructors supplement in-class materials with short videos. Some flipped courses are also streamed.
Online: Online courses let students and faculty interact with each other as class members totally over
the Internet. Instructional courseware utilizes web pages, discussion groups and UWC e-mail. Online
courses do not meet at a particular time or place, but they are structured within the academic semester timeframe and require class participation several times each week. These courses have different
tuition, fees, and payment requirements; this information is listed on: www.online.uwc.edu Textbooks
must be purchased through Neebo Online Bookstore.
Blended: A Blended course is a 15-week semester course where the course content is taught using faceto-face and online or “time-out-of-class” learning modes. Blended courses are approximately 40-60%
online with the remainder completed face-to-face.
Blended/Accelerated: A Blended Accelerated course is a blended course offered in 5, 7 or 8 week sessions.
Late: Courses with a start time of 5:00pm or later
