Why treat water?
How to use Aquatabs
The simple answer- to make it safe to drink! When travelling,
even when the water looks clean, it is always best to treat it to
ensure that all of the micro-organisms have been killed. Many
of the diseases contracted by travellers can be attributed to
contaminated water. The microbiology of water is constantly
changing. What is safe to drink one day may not be safe to drink
the next. 1.
The source of water to be treated may be a river, lake, well,
cistern or similar system at temperatures as low as 40F.

If the water is turbid (dirty looking) first filter through a cloth.
Decant the clarified water to a clean container and add
one 8.5mg Aquatabs tablet to 1/5 gallon (0.75 liter/ 25 oz)
of water to obtain a 6.5ppm (6.5mg/L) available chlorine
solution.

Mix well for 10 minutes and wait at least 30 minutes and
then enjoy the benefits of safe water.
